How to Open *.myo File?

I have a company file created under AccountRight 19.1, so it's in .myo format.

I've just installed AccountRight 19.6 and am wanting to open the .myo file but it seems that the programme will only accept *.myox files. I cannot see how to allow it to open non-.myox files.

What do I need to do to be able to open the .myo file?

    Hi OldeFella,

    Here’s what you need to do: you’ll need to convert your file into the .myox format first. In AccountRight, there’s an ‘Upgrade’ option that’ll do the trick. Just open the software, select ‘Upgrade’ from the menu, it’ll guide you through updating your file to the .myox format. Once that’s done, you’ll be all set to go!

  • Hi Earl - sorry for the belated reply.

    I'm running into a problem using Upgrade as I no longer have the Administrator password. 

    I switched accountants a few years back and set up a user account for the accountant. In making that change the Administrator password was deleted as it was either not recognised, or else forgotten, that the word Administrator was system generated and was critical. 

    How do I proceed from here?

    I've moved forward a little, but now have a new problem. I dug out my old laptop on which was MYOB and an early version of the .myo file. It used to open without an Administrator password so I gave it a password, saved the file, then moved the USB stick with the old file, now password-protected, to the desktop and ran MYOB again. This time, now that it had an Admin password, I proceeded with uploading it until I reached the screen requiring the serial number and for whatever reason the .myo file doesn't have the correct serial number. It says that I need to change the serial number. How do I do this. I have a record of the correct serial number.
