AL / RDO Payout on termination

Hello,

Can someone please help - when processing a termination, do you need to process the unused AL & leave loading separately, and run another pay for the RDO's as it's considered an ETP - Taxable Component?

Or can you process both within the one pay?

Thank you.

  • Hi
If you are using the Final Pay process, the answer is yes, as ETP is not available yet in final pay. However if you wish to run one pay, you could run the final pay and allow the tax to be calculated, write the tax down and run a manual termination pay using the tax written down for the payg withholding and you will require a separate ETP tax deduction for the RDO
    Regards

  • yes, currently you would need to do 2 pay runs
    All the best

    Thanks ChrisMC.

I mostly use Desktop version of MYOB. If doing on Desktop, assume it would be ok to the AL/LL payout and the RDO payout in the one payrun, after I've already done final pay?  And if I do, would I have to put the RDO payout hours/$figures in the ETP Taxable field, rather than the RDO field or does it not matter? Then put the taxes separate (PAYG Withholding on AL&LL payout / and ETP - Tax Withheld on the RDO payout (if doing this I guess you would just have to put a note in the 'Memo' field for the employee to know what the ETP-Taxable figure is for RDO payout). (Should I have a payroll category for 'Unused RDO Payout'?)

Hope the above makes sense! Thank you for your assistance.  (example below)

Also, another question...if using Browser version of myob, you would need to do two payruns - one using 'final pay' as the pay cycle for the AL payout, then another regular payrun for the ETP RDO payout?

(I've never processed a termination in MYOB Browser, only desktop version).  Thank you again.
