Processing payroll - operation has timed out message

During the processing of my payroll this morning, when I tried to record the run, a message appeared saying an operation has timed out and would you like to retry.  Retrying did not help.  Our internet is working fine so that is not the issue.

I closed down MYOB, restarted my computer and tried again but got the same message.  Also, when I opened up MYOB, no request for email or password, I went straight into the data file despite the fact the program had been shut down and the computer restarted.

Would appreciate any suggestions, thanks.

  • Hi Doreen

When I was unable to process the payrun the following day, I rang MYOB support and they told me to delete the run and try processing again which worked.

I had this same issue. Recreating the payroll didn't work. The error was occurring within 4 seconds so the TimeOut Extender steps were pointless because the default is 60 seconds and the extension gets taken out to 3600 seconds (which is an incredibly long time). The only anomoly was a new staff member that was receiving her first pay in this cycle. When I excluded her, and re-ran the Pay Record, it worked. When I then tried her on her own, I got the same error as above. So I checked her setup, and Superannuation Guarantee was not ticked the Superannuation tab. Checked this box, retried it, now worked successfully. MYOB, please address your software/error codes and help files. Cheers.
