Thanks for describing your concern clearly, This error message usually points to the Server Edition library setup rather than the network. It happens when the hidden .backup folder is missing from the Server Edition library location.
I recommend you try this on the host/server computer:
- open File Explorer
- turn on Hidden items
- go to the library location for the company file
- check if there’s a folder called .backup
If the .backup folder is missing, that would usually be the cause of this error. Adding that missing folder generally fixes it.
