How to deactivate a company file

I have problem with upgrading company file, can I deactivate this old file and make a new company file?

  • Hi Koslam1,

Thanks for your post, and welcome to the Community Forum! Are you encountering an error message while grading a company file? By deactivating your company file, we can arrange for a new one to be set up for you. Please send me a private message with the following information, and I'll be glad to assist you with this.

    Serial Number.
    Company File ID.
    Full name and Email.

    Looking forward to your response.
    Regards,
    Earl

    Hi WPA-Accounts,

That definitely sounds like a hassle.

From what you’ve described, it sounds like a second online company may have been created while you were trying to move the original offline file online.

Because this needs account-specific checks, the best next step is to reach out to our support team for further assistance. . You can reach them on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA or by submitting a support case via MyAccount.

    Regards,
    Earl

To shortcut the incredibly long and frustrating process of trying to get through to the support team (I won't even suggest that you try the chat assistant) this information may help:

    • when MYOB migrated to their new system earlier in the year, they seem to have overlooked the need for Company files to be removed
    • this can occur if you uploaded a test file and have not used it and are, like me being forced to go on line
    • it has taken from the 1st of June to yesterday to finally get an answer to the problem
    • I have been told that I need to contact Retention and ask for my current subscription to be cancelled and to create a new one
    • if this is not correct, then I hope Earl or someone who knows more can straighten things out
