User update

Hello All,

I have a staff member that has left but a new staff member will be using the same email address as the previous.

If i remove access can i then invite the new person to the same email address i have just removed?

Thank you!

  • Hi Shaylee,

If you want your new staff member to use the same email as the previous person, no worries! You can just update the username instead of removing or making them inactive. Just head over to the browser version of MYOB, and follow the steps under "Change a user's name" in this link: Edit and delete users.

    Regards,

    Sai

    Hey Shaylee,

Since you want to invite a new team member using the same email as someone who’s left, you’ll need to fully delete the old user first. Removing their access isn’t quite enough. The catch is you can only delete them if they haven’t recorded any transactions in the file and aren’t set up as an Administrator. If you’re unsure how to go about it, have a look at the FAQs from this link for all the steps on deleting a user. If you need more help with this, make sure to reach out to our team on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

The person has been here for 5 years and they have recorded in all company files. They are not an administrator though. So can i remove access  or should i make them inactive? and then invite a new person with the previous persons email?

    Hi Shaylee,

You can definitely change the password linked to that email. Just head over to myaccount.myob.com to do it. The login for your MYOB account runs off the email’s own online password, so any changes have to happen there.

Just a heads-up, the online password’s totally separate from anything in your actual file. Doesn’t matter if you add a new user or keep the same one, if you ever need to update the password, just jump into myaccount.myob.com and you’re good to go.
