Which offline version to download

Hi,

My computer recently crashed and I don't know what version of MYOB I was using so I don't know which version to download now. I had a MYOB Upgrade from FirstAccounts to AccountRight Standard v19 which included MYOB AccountRight Live Standard Annual Subscription.  I have always worked offline though. The AR Live Standard must be slightly different to ARS v19 hence the messages I keep getting saying my file is not an ARS v19 company file, but I don’t know what the AR Live is equivalent to if not ARS v19.  There is nothing like it in the MYOB download list. I have been able to download the original file from 2019 but can't download my most recent saved backup zip file. Does anyone have any idea what it might be equivalent to?

Thanks, Vicki

    Hi Victoria,

Thanks for sharing all those details. It’s definitely a real hassle when your computer crashes, especially when you have unfinished work.

It’s hard to tell the exact MYOB version without checking your account details. However, based on what you’ve shared about using an offline file, please download and install AccountRight Server Edition 2026.5. Once installed, you should be able to restore your ZIP backup in Server Edition. Please note that Server Edition is a temporary way to access offline AccountRight files and isn’t a long-term solution. If the backup still won’t restore, please contact our team with your account details and the version shown in the error message. We’ll be happy to take a closer look and help identify the right MYOB version for you. You can reach our them through any of the support options listed on our Contact page.

    Cheers,

    Princess

    Hi Princess,

Thank you for your suggestion, but I really don't want to have to use an online version. I have used the offline version for many years and only need to keep going for a few more years. The message I keep getting is that the file you have chosen is not an AR standard company file. I don't know what version I am now using except that the invoice says it is AR Live Standard and I didn't see that in the download options. I have contacted MYOB support through my account and explained the issue but have not had a response yet.

    Regards, Vicki

    Hi Victoria

If you want to keep working offline, the option you're after is Server Edition.

If you only need to open the file once in a while, you can also use an older AccountRight PC Edition from the downloads page.

If you're not sure which version you're using, open AccountRight and see the app version on the landing page.

    Regards,
    Genreve

    Hi Genreve,

    Thank you for your suggestion.

However, isn't the server edition only a temporary solution and won't I eventually have to move to the online version?

    Regards,

    Vicki

    Hi Princess,

I lodged a request for support a few days ago. How long does it usually take to get a response? I need to sort this asap and get working as I haven't had access for some time now.

    Regards, Vicki

    Hi Victoria

If you need to access your offline file now, download AccountRight Server Edition. Install it, then open your file using the new Server Edition shortcut.

You’re right that Server Edition is only temporary. You’ll eventually need to move your file online to keep receiving updates and support.

Support ticket wait times are generally around 3-5 business days, but because of the number of requests coming in, it's longer than usual at the moment.

    Regards,
    Genreve
