Can't export a report to excel

I have just notice that I have been unable to excel format now.  I have gone into the Trust Center & onto File Block Settings but all my setting look good but still can't export & not sure why.  Can someone help me out here as to why this is happening to me.

    Hi Shezza1,

Thanks for raising this. If the report is displaying but not exporting to Excel, there are a couple of things worth checking first:

    • Make sure your version of Microsoft Excel is 2010 or later, and that it's installed on your computer as the desktop app, not just opened through a web browser.
    • Open the report first, then go to File > Export > Excel.
    • If it's a custom report, the Excel option can be unavailable from the Index to Reports window, but you should still be able to export it after displaying the report.
    • If the file opens in Excel but the totals aren't showing, click Enable Editing in Excel first.

You can also have a look at this help article for reference: Exporting reports.

    Regards,

    Sai

I have the latest version installed in my app on my computer.  I have opened up the report again to export to excel & nothing comes up for me to save it anywhere.

    Hi Shezza1

I'm guessing you could do this in the past? - what changed? Did you change computers? MYOB needs to be installed after MS Office and Excel. ie excel must be there already for MYOB to link to it. I know some of the Excel files export as .xls files rather than .xlsx, You could also try and install MYOB again over the top of existing to see if it repairs the broken links.

Hi Shezza1  - you could try exporting to file which is either .txt or .csv. Save it then open in Excel.

Yes, I was able to do this in the past.  Nothing has changed.  MYOB was installed after MS Office.

    Hi Shezza1,

That definitely sounds frustrating. From what you’ve shared, it looks like the report is exporting, but Excel may be opening it as unreadable text or blocking the template it needs to use. A good first step is to open Excel first, check the Trust Centre and File Block settings, and make sure the AccountRight spreadsheet template folder is added as a trusted location.

It’s also worth working through this help page: Opening an export file in Excel
