ABA file not recognised by bank

I'm trying to upload my MYOB generated ABA file to Bank SA, yet their portal is saying it doesn't recognise the file format.  Is anyone else having this problem?

    Hi BL01,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble uploading your ABA file from MYOB. Please ensure the ABA file was generated directly from the software without any manual edits, as changes can sometimes alter the file's compatibility.

At the moment, we haven't received any reports of similar issues from other users, so it might be something specific to the file setup or the portal. I recommend as well reaching out to BankSA's support for specific guidance on file compatibility.

    Regards,

    Sai

Thank you Sai, however I have made no manual edits to the file.

        Hi BL01,

The best next step is to proceed with option 2, which is to contact Bank SA support. They should be able to assist you directly with resolving this issue.

        Regards,

        Sai

Hi there, I believe there is a possible issue with the way ABA files are created and accepted by the banks of late. We have been baffled by this for nearly a year without resolution. If a solution can be found to whats causing ABA files to randomly not work or be accepted, it will be much appreciated.

      Hi Evie-Myob,

If you can't upload ABA files to the bank, it usually happens because the transactions in the electronic payment don't have the statement text filled out. Make sure each card file has a default statement text so it will autofill the statement text box when the transactions are created.

Feel free to post again if you need any other help.

      Thanks,
      Genreve

      Hi Evie-Myob

If recreating the ABA files after ensuring all transactions included in the electronic payments have statement texts still fails to upload, it might be best to create a support ticket from the MyAccount window or reach out to live chat through MOCA for further troubleshooting.
