Discrepancy in bank feed and bank account
I had a long chat with MYOB support to locate the discrepancy of $1,500, the gentleman used Team-viewer and found one of our general journal entries below:
Dr prepaid expenses $1,500
Cr Bank Account $1,500
He told me to delete this account to make it balance. He said if you delete it the bank feed will be balanced with your bank account.
I said if I deleted this entry, our bank account won't be balanced, however he said if you delete this, the discrepancy will be removed. He also said Cr bank account means the $1,500 already put it back to our bank account. I said in accounting 'Cr bank account' means withdraw money from bank. He said NO. I asked him if he has any accounting knowledge. He said he is technical support do not need any accounting sense. The question is basically MYOB is a platform to help people / organisation to deal with their money (or business transactions) in & out. How come their staff can tell a client / customer they do not need any accounting sense.
I really don't understand how to deal with MYOB support.
