Create New Employee

Hi all,

I am trying to re-create an employee after the initial employee creation had its information request expire. I think it expired because I initially had the employee benefits program set up - by default - but this resulted in numerous emails and text messages asking employees to sign up. And I am only setting them up as employees to comply with superannuation requirements - for all other purposes they are independent contractors. So I removed the employee benefits and this seemed to expire the information requests.

I tried to re-send the invitation but this resulted in an error. So I canceled the invitation and tried to re-send it through the employee profile but this also resulted in an error. So I deleted the employee and went to re-create it but now it tells me that it can't because an employee already exists with this email address. I can't find any record of the old employee, even when I check the 'Show inactive employees' check box.

Does anybody out there know how to get around this?

Thanks,

Ben.

  • Hi BenBarnes,

Thanks for sharing all that detail. That does sound like a frustrating loop to get stuck in. If you haven’t tried it yet, one workaround is to use a different email address when recreating the employee, just to get the record set up again. If the original email is still tied to the earlier expired or cancelled invitation in the background, this can sometimes help you move forward. If that still doesn’t do the trick, it’s best to reach out to our support team via the Contact Us page so they can take a closer look.

    Cheers,

  • Thanks Doreen_P - that looks to have worked. As much as I think this should be fixed, that's good enough for me at the moment.

    Cheers,

    Ben.
