Transition from Payroll only and STP reporting link

I upgraded a while ago from Payroll only to Business Lite

I received help from the MYOB team in transitioning the chart of accounts (invisible in Payroll only) from an ancient stand alone version into this cloud version.

As part of that process my file was wiped in order to import 2 years of current data (ie the legacy .DAT file)

I have drafted a payrun but not executed it but notice when I opened the menu for stp reporting it assumes I have no connection to the ATO reporting gateway. I had one obviously in the Payroll only softare. The MYOB team were confident that when I do the pay run the link will be found to be still in existence and all should be well.

 

 Any comment or further advice from anyone who has negotiated this transition ?

    Hi Brendan_Kew, 

     

    That does sound like the new file may not be recognising the previous STP connection.

     

    This usually comes down to the STP setup in the new file. If you were reporting from Payroll Only earlier in the same payroll year, I’d check the ATO settings and make sure the previous BMS ID was carried over properly.

     

    You can check the BMS ID in ATO Online Services by going to Employees > STP reporting, opening one of the accepted reports from the old software, and copying the BMS ID shown there.

     

    If that wasn’t carried across into MYOB, it can make it look like the ATO link is missing. If the BMS ID is already there and it’s still not working, our team will need to take a closer look at the old file details.     I did print out from my ATO portal access their stp report info and can see the BMS ID that applied and should still apply ongoing.

    All will become clearer I think when I try to do my next payrun in the next few days (the first after transitioning from Payroll Only to Business Lite ) but I do have the BMS ID
