That's definitely not ideal. Thanks for checking all those details already, it really helps narrow things down. That error sometimes is about how the email is being sent behind the scenes. A couple of things worth trying:
- Log out of MYOB and back in again (just to refresh things)
- Try sending the payslip from a different browser
- Clear your browser cache. Sometimes it's just a bit of a hiccup there
- Double-check under Payroll settings > Pay slip email defaults, make sure the Reply-to email address is verified/active
