Hi Verdant,
The online/browser version doesn’t have a way to duplicate an old invoice into a quote, which is why recurring will recreate it as an invoice rather than a quote. If you’re using the desktop version, there’s an option to save a recurring quote, so that may be the easier path if you need to reuse the same layout again. You can check this link for more info about recurring transactions. If you need it to sit in quotes in the browser version, the way to do it is to create the quote manually again.
Cheers,
Doreen

Hi Doreen,
Thanks for your reply. To clarify, I have already gone down the recurring invoice route on the desktop version. It won't allow me to change the saved invoice from 'invoice' to 'quote'.

Hi Verdant,
Yep, that’s right, if it was saved as a recurring invoice, it’ll stay as an invoice template, so you can’t switch it over to a quote later.
If you need it to stay in Quotes until they’re ready to go, you’ll need to create the quote again manually. Once accepted, you can convert the quote to an invoice.
I know that’s a pain for a big house-lot job.
Cheers,
Genreve
