Forum Discussion
Users have been complaining about this since it was introduced.
We work in the health industry and provide patients with a PDF version of their invoice which shows various pieces of information required for Medicare claiming. The problem with the invoice summary is that it shows information from the current version of the client card, not the information that was extant at the time the invoice was produced. As a result, clients who try to claim from Medicare using printouts of the invoice summary have their claims rejected because their date of referral is wrong, their address has subsequently been changed etc. We then get our patients contacting us and telling us that we have used the wrong information whereas in fact, the information is correct on the PDF version of the invoice and the information that MYOB is picking up in the invoice summary represents overwritten versions of such data and inconsistent with the information that was accurate at the time of the original invoice.
I appreciate that we could recommend asking customers to only use the attached PDF invoice to ensure accuracy, but we shouldn't have to – the summary, if it's going to be used at all, should be accurate in the first place. We work in the area of mental health, and not all clients can remember such things, are savvy enough to understand that there would be a difference etc. What would be better would be to get rid of the invoice summary completely because what it shows is inaccurate.
When on earth are we going to get the option to remove this change that was forced upon us by MYOB without any consultation??
Hi Copycat,
Thanks for taking the time to share this detailed feedback and explain how the invoice summary is affecting your patients’ Medicare claims. I’m sorry this is creating confusion, especially when the information shown doesn’t reflect what was correct when the invoice was issued. We’ll pass your feedback, including the request to remove the invoice summary or make it optional, to our product team to be considered in ongoing conversations about improvements. We appreciate you explaining the impact this has on your practice and patients.
Regards,
Sai
