Purchases auto populate an amount from previous entries.

This has been the bane of my existence for too long. When entering purchases the price auto populates from a previous invoice for that supplier. I've googled and cannot find a fix. I have, too many times, ended up with an entry with an incorrect figure. Can this be turned off?
