Hi adzcas,
It can certainly slow your process down when you get stopped by a TFN error.
333 333 333 is OK for tax/STP, but Pay Super won’t accept any of the ATO placeholder TFNs (111/333/444/000, etc.), so it shows “You need a valid Tax File Number for this employee” and blocks the payment.
To move forward:
- If the employee can get a TFN, they’ll need to apply for one, and then you can update their card and pay their super via Pay Super.
- If they can’t quote a TFN yet, you’ll need to check with the ATO on what they want you to use for their super.
In the meantime, you can still pay their super directly to the fund and record it manually in AccountRight, so you stay compliant.
