SUPER MEMBER NUMBER

Having an issue with an employee number, our default Super will not issue an employee membership number until they receive the first contribution. MYOB Pay Super requires the employee membership number before the contribution can be submitted.  How can I submit the first contribution for this new default-fund member?"

Any help would be great :)

  • Hi jowers73 - thanks for the question.

You’ll need to check with the super fund which temporary employee membership number they accept for a new member. Some funds accept 000000000 (nine zeros), NEW or UNKNOWN, but this isn’t accepted by every fund, so don’t use a made-up number.

If the fund confirms a temporary value, enter it in the employee card:

    1. Go to Card File > Cards List > Employee.
    2. Open the employee cards and click Payroll Details > Superannuation.
    3. Enter the value in Employee membership number, save, then try Pay Super again.

Once the fund provides the permanent membership number, update the employee card with it. If the fund won’t accept a temporary value, you’ll need to obtain the membership number before Pay Super can submit the contribution. You can still process the employee’s wages while this is being sorted.

    I hope this helps!
