Waiting that long for an SMS code really isn’t ideal, and I can completely understand how frustrating that must’ve been. That’s really not how we want things to go for you.
At the moment, Pay Super authorisation codes can only be sent by SMS for security reasons, so options like email or an authenticator app aren’t available just yet. If you’d like to see this as an option down the track, I’d really encourage you to add it to our Ideas Board too. That gives other users a chance to vote on it as well, and the more support it gets there, the more visibility it has with our product team.
