Super Guarantee not calculating properly under new payroll category

Good morning

I have been asked to split some employees time between two COS accounts. This has involved setting up new COS wages accounts and moving them from the traditional expenses account.

I have set up the wages accounts accordingly, and also Super Guarantee.

What I have found is that one of the super guarantee accounts accurately reflect the super for it's related wages category, but the other SG account is not calculating at all.

I have uploaded screenshots of the relevant cost of sales categories and a dummy wages payment so you can see what is going on.

Any help appreciated

  • Hi BenchCBS,

Thank you for your post and helpful screenshots.

From your screenshot of the "Maintenance Superannuation GTee" Category, I can see that it is set up with a $450 threshold, so super will not start calculating until this amount is met (for the month). See below:

And looking at the pay run, your "Maintenance Wages" category earned $244.13 gross for that period, so the threshold would not have been met.

You can test to see if this is the reason by doing a dummy pay run, entering an amount 450 or above for the "Maintenance Wages" category, and see if it now calculates.

If you do not require this threshold, simply reduce the threshold amount from $450 to $0, this Super will now calculate on anything earned for the relevant category/s.

Let me know how you go or if you'd like further assistance with this.

      Hi Sam_R

Thank you for your reply.  That was the solution to the problem. Should have thought of that myself but didn't. Many thanks.
