SUPERANNUATION WEEKLY PAYMENTS THROUGH MYOB ACCOUNTRIGHT

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone use the "Pay Superannuation" option through MYOB Accountright Plus and are you happy with it?  I've worked with MYOB now for 9 years and would like to use this option for when super requires weekly payments but never had the confidence in MYOB for things to go smoothly (sorry MYOB).

Kindest regards,

Sharon

    Hi Jo-AnneD,

You’re not alone in keeping an eye on processing times with Payday Super coming in, it’s something that needs to be tight by 1 July. To update the bank account for Pay Super, download the Pay Super Change of Details form from this link, fill it in, then email it to the address shown on it so the team can update your bank details on their side.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

It seems you have to complete a form and send it to MYOB to request bank details to be changed.

I am finding the processing time an issue also. It had better improve by the 1st July.

Also trying to find out how to change bank details. No one seems to want to respond to my question regarding this. MYOB, if someone can please advise.

    Hi GLBK,

Love that you’ve been using MYOB for years across multiple companies. You’re right to be thinking ahead about Payday Super. It’ll still feel manual in terms of your pay run, but the big change is when the super gets paid:

    • You process your pay run like the usual
    • Right after that, the related super gets processed too
    • So no more separate monthly or quarterly super payments like you’re doing now. It moves closer to being paid with each pay cycle instead of in big batches later.

If you want all the details about Payday Super, we’ve got a handy link that you can check out.

    Cheers,

    Doreen

  • I have been using it now for years with 3 different companies I do bookwork for and it works great and is very easy. I am not sure how payday super will go after June. I am thinking it is still done manually with wages instead of the monthly as I do now as I have not found anything from MYOB as to whether it will be more automatic on lodging wages.

Yes, i have been using the "Pay Superannuation" for many years with no issues, i find it a very easy way to pay the super. If, there are any errors they show up straight away and you can fix before you send file.

We have just started using it in preparation for the July changes.   It is easy in that there is no additional entries required on another platform.    The reporting is a bit trickier to navigate but is OK once you work out what you need to print.   There is nothing in the payday super area.

The two things that concern me are the support, currently that seems to be restricted to being via email to the paysuper team.   There is a two day wait for a reply.   I have raised that concern with MYOB but there is no clear commitment to improving that.   The suggestions made for a quicker response I have tried and still ended up back at the 2 day email process.    Perhaps it will be better with a different problem to what we had.

The other is the processing time.   That is consistently 7 days from payment.   As 7 days is the compliance time there is no room for any errors.   We also use 2 to authorise which means we need to be efficient with paying wages, completing the payday super and effecting both authorisations on the same day.

I still have not worked out where to see the bank account details that the payment will be deducted from.  We changed bank accounts and it was trial & error to see if that had been updated.   It turns out it had not which cost us $ in fees.   It is a question I asked the payday super team however as my 2nd question in email and they only answered the first I let it go rather than needing to do another 2 day process for an answer.

The other security issue I have stumbled across is that with the two authorisations that does not pickup on one person having two different logins.   In that scenario one person can do both authorisations.

We are persevering with it as overall it is the easiest option for us.

I've been using the 'Pay Superannuation' option through MYOB Accountright for several years and haven't had an issue using it.

Have another entity that I will bringing onboard in July and will be using 'Pay Superannuation' for that too.
