Cluttered User Interface

Hi MYOB,

 

I am not sure if the team who design the Business UI have ever tried to use it in a real life situation because it is very cluttered with messages that waste so much space.  Despite dismissing these messages they just keep coming back and most are either irrelevant, wrong or just spam. 

 

Here is this mornings example, I am reviewing the sales invoices and payments for a customer who is questioning how much they owe the business.  Because there is no Customer Transaction report in Business Lite, we have to do this manually.  List all the invoices raised for the customer, then drill into each to get the payment details and record this manually (I'm using Excel).

 

The problem comes about that every time I go back to the list of invoices all the spam has again appeared and then I need to scroll down looking for the next invoice to interrogate because there is only room on the screen for a few invoices.

 

This issue is not restricted to just  the invoice screen, but just about every screen.

 

Any chance we could have a real effort put into building a more usable UI?

    Get functionality right before doing the "Pretty" stuff.

    Clients want accuracy, reliability and confidence in the software.

    Without this they look elsewhere

    I hope your team will understand that this issue goes way beyond just this screen.  This was today's frustration.  Every Business screen seems to need significant review of how intuitive and clear they are.

     

    As I mentioned before, while I am not blind (I may be slightly colour blind), I struggle to even see boarders around drop down lists and other items due to the lack of contrast in the colour scheme.  Without a properly thought through scheme that does not cater to all abilities MYOB is failing your users.

    In the invoices screen I see 3 invoices. Just 3

     

    The rest of the space is taken up by headers and titles and that really annoying AI advertisement that can't be hidden and needs to show every single time.

     

    I suggest forcing the devs to work in 1080p instead of giving them 4k TVs to work on.
