Is MYOB out of its depth with MYOB Advanced?
I have been using MYOB advanced for over a year now and there are many things that make me wonder if there really is a comprehensive understanding of the Acumatica product at MYOB. It feels like MYOB is a branding company, not a software company, who have put a purple dress on Acumatica and are unable to help it fit into the real world wearing such robes. Could an end user poll be taken, to see if any of us actually cared if you simply dropped the MYOB charade and switched us all over to AcumaticaJames_Brading? Acumatica is really what the product is, putting the MYOB badge on it might have been a marketing coup but it really seems like we are left with a poor second cousin, whereas if we were put back in the fold with other Acumatica users, where the product is properly managed, has the support forums and communitity of developers and users who all work together wouldn't it just be a lot easier and superior for everyone? An example of what i mean... no outlook function, despite it being an acumatica native since 2017: https://community.myob.com/t5/Other-MYOB-software/Myob-Advanced-Outlook-add-on-issues/td-p/480375 Such a poor cousin, we dont even get a seat at the MYOB family table: https://community.myob.com/t5/Other-MYOB-software/Myob-Advanced-support/td-p/478445 https://community.myob.com/t5/Other-MYOB-software/Is-MYOB-Advanced-end-users-feedback-and-challenges-valued/m-p/672942#M14258SolvedMYOB Advanced Preview Webinar for 2018.1 Release

Hi all, We have a new release of the 2018.1.0 version that we will be rolling out to the EAP sites next week. However, below is a link to a local install version that you can download. http://myobadvanced.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/2018 Please note, we will continue to be putting out updated versions of the release, so if you download a version we would ask that you run the updates when new versions become available. I have also attached the first draft copy of the release and upgrade notes, please do not distribute these documents yet. One topic that has not been included in this version of the upgrade notes is the manner in which companies and branches are managed during the upgrade process with the change to the new company / branch structure. We will include this shortly and make the information available as there is some pre-upgrade work that may be required to achieve the desired outcome post upgrade. For those partners waiting on sandboxes, we will action the new sandboxes shortly Any questions, please let me know JamesImplementation Methodology For Advanced Business
At a very early stage the MYOB Advanced Business Go to Market team identified the need to produce and deliver an implementation methodology for Advanced Business. The purpose of the implementation methodology is to assist partners by guiding them through the whole implementation process by delivering a methodology to follow. Over the past 18 months the ANZ Professional Services team have assisted a number of business partners across Australia and New Zealand through their MYOB Advanced implementations which assisted greatly in the design and content of this implementation methodology documentation. Working with those partners has also provided an opportunity to gain feedback as the implementation methodology developed. Whilst assisting partners over the past 18 months it was generally acknowledged internally through our own observations that partners have followed similar methodology approaches to their implementations. During our conversations with partners that we have assisted over the past year they have also commented that whilst they are generally satisfied with their approach it was also beneficial to have another point of reference. We believe that you will find it both useful for your future implementations but it can also be used as a point of reference during the sales process for potentially larger deals that may quiz you on your implementation methodology and approach. As announced at this year’s Partner Conference the ANZ Professional Services team are delighted to produce and release the implementation methodology to all partners after trialling it over the past 18 months. This implementation methodology document along with the localised demo databases for Australia and New Zealand are Go to Market initiatives for assisting our partners with delivering MYOB Advanced. The implementation methodology has been made available to all partners via the attachment to this community forum post. A further copy will also be made available in our e-learning website which all MYOB Advanced certified consultants will have access to. We would like to again thank all the partners across Australia and New Zealand that allowed us to work with them during the past 18 months and contributed to the review process and as always further partner feedback is always welcomed.Applying for Bankfeeds in Advanced Business - Support recommended process
Hi everyone, I've given this template out to a number of people, there are currently 2 main classes of issues facing people applying for bankfeeds in MYOB Advanced. 1. Accounts not fully configured/Users not Bank Feed Owners. Symptoms:Error 10013 Cause:The Authorise Bank Feed Owner button generates an email which is then queued to be sent inside of Advanced Business. If Email sending is not configured already (Often the case before go-live) the email will not be sent to Accounts team, and the account will not be configured. Solution: Send the following template to the Operations team directly when a client wants to start using bankfeeds. Feel free to CC me on your message to the Operations team, so I can confirm they’ve finished the process for you. Email to: accountsanz@myobadvanced.com Subject: Please add Bank Feeds Admin User to ADVANCED Client Hi Admin team, Our client: <ClientID from Archie if available> Contract ID: <Contract from Phoenix> Customer ID: <CustomerID from Phoenix> Has MYOB Advanced Business with domain name: <Advanced Domain Name here> And is looking to apply for Bankfeeds. Please add the following email address(es) as (a) Bank Feeds Admin(s): Client Contact Name: <Name of User to be added> Client Role with Company: <Role of User> Client Email Address for 2FA/My.Dot login: <Email Address associated with Advanced User> And send us back the list of all currently authorized Bank Feed Admin for the account once this has been actioned. <DELETE THIS SECTION BELOW HERE IF YOU HAVE NOT USED THE AUTHORIZE ADMIN PROCESS> If this has already been requested using the “Authorize Admin” button in MYOB Advanced, please indicate the date and time, and which user was requested, so we can follow up with our systems. Please note: This has already been requested via the in-product buttons at the following time(s): 2. Long waits with applications at the "Awaiting Application" stage. Awaiting Application is the stage for paper applications after creation, before they have been received by MYOB. If an application has been at "Awaiting Application" for more than 2 business days, this can indicate the form was not received by MYOB. In these cases please SUBMIT A CASE - so Support can check the status for you. AND RESUBMITthe applications that are still at "Awaiting Application" to https://apply.bankfeeds.myob.com/Forms/Portal When resubmitting please: Submit 1 (one) form each time only. (We currently believe this may improve performance) Note the email address being submitted as Note the time the submission went through. After they have been uploaded, please confirm : 1) The Exact email address used at the Portal screen. 2) The Time the applications were submitted. Please note: if the screen gives an error during upload, you need to submit that application again, as it indicates our server has not correctly received the PDF. (Usually an Internet interruption) Please submit forms one at a time. We're investigating an issue, but our current speculation is that attaching multiple forms at a time makes the process more likely to fail. If you can confirm the time of the ORIGINAL uploads the support team can see if the feed team can find them, but in general if they weren't processed at the time we don't have them. When querying support about application status: Support will want to know the FeedID (if an application is not at the OPEN stage) And the Bank Account Number (Or last 4 digits if a credit card) So that they can follow up on exact application details with the feed team. Edit note: This post was edited on 5 August to emphasis uploading forms 1 at a time, based on feedback from the bankfeeds team.Advanced 2022.2 Upgrade - Custom AR Statement Change
Hi Partners, As part of the Advanced 2022.2 Upgrade, a change was made to the printing of AR Statement's resulting in the removal of the ARStatementAdjust table. For sites running customized AR Statements, attached is a document that steps you through the changes required. Please review the attached document and let us know if you have any questions. ThanksAdvanced 2018.1 release schedule
Hi all, As you will all be aware, the 2018.1 release of MYOB Advanced is the next major product release which we are wanting to start rolling out to sites in a staggered manner, starting next month in June. I covered off the release strategy in a webinar last week, and have attached the details to this posting to ensure that everyone is aware of the plans for the roll out. In essence, we are looking to stagger the release into 4 upgrade windows starting in June and flowing through monthly until September. Below I have outlined the objectives of each release window: June upgrades Existing sites During June, Australian sites will need to be focussing on end of financial year, tax complaince along with STP. On that basis we are not looking to carry out upgrades to any Australian sites, but rather focus on carrying out upgrades to several New Zealand sites. We are looking for candidate New Zealand sites for this upgrade window, so please contact me if you have any sites that would want to be part of the June upgrade. New sites New sites going live during June or at the start of July will initially be provisioned on a 2017.1 release version. If the site does not require Advanced People, they can be upgraded to the 2018.1 version. July upgrades Existing sites During July we would intend to continue to roll out the version to an extended number of sites, comprising both New Zealand and Australian sites. Again, we will be limiting the number of sites that will be included in the upgrade to approximately 30 additional sites. New sites All new sites will be provisioned on the 2018.1 version August upgrades Existing sites The intention would be to start rolling out the version as per normal upgrade procedures. We would still limit the number of sites to approximately an additional 200 sites September upgrades Existing sites During September the intention would be to complete the roll out of the 2018.1 version and upgrade the remaining sites. Key points & next steps The release schedule is contingent on feedback from the EAP process. There has been a number of changes to the structure of the system, so please ensure you carry out EAP testing, especially where customisations are involved. Please contact me regarding upgrade candidates specifically for the June / July upgrade windows Any other questions, please contact me Regards JamesError when processing bank feed transactions after upgrade to 2023.115.301.7250
Good afternoon Since the upgrade to version 2023.115.301.7250 [23.115.0031], multiple sites have reported an error when processing bank feed transactions on the Process Bank Transactions screen (CA306000). The error message states: "CA Error: The document could not be processed because the external reference number of the bank transaction is empty. Fill in the Ext. Ref. Nbr. box on the Import Bank Transactions (CA306500) form for the bank transaction." BUSINESS IMPACT: Unable to process transactions. WORKAROUND: Users can follow the error and adding ext nbr and then process. However this is not feasible for large amounts of transactions and shouldn’t need to based on configuration settings. Acumatica have resolved the issue in upcoming release 23.116 but we are working to see if we can provide a more feasible workaround or customisation for sites that have already upgraded to 2023.115. This is is currently with our Engineering Teams via SP CE00048321 and we will advise as soon as a solution is forthcoming. Mark Trumper Product and Platform Team Leader200Views0likes0CommentsMulti-Factor authentication
Exec summary MYOB Advanced is enforcing mandatory MFA for all users to enhance online security and comply with ATO Digital Service Provider regulations. This rollout will happen in phases during Q2 & Q3: Upgrading all sites to version2023.1.xxx(mandatory). The majority of sites are already scheduled for upgrade. User transition to MFA with support and deadlines. Changes are also being made to the MFA solution: Reauthentication is required every 24 hours (down from 30 days). User session lock after 30 minutes of inactivity (down from 4 hours). A change management program will keep customers and partners informed. Benefits: Improved online security for MYOB Advanced users and their data. Compliance with ATO Digital Service Provider framework. Action Required: All sites must upgrade to version2023.1.xxx. All users who aren't using MFA will need to transition. Details The importance of online security and protecting our digital services is paramount, especially due to the nature of the information and data that is managed through the MYOB Advanced solution. A key part to security is multi-factor authentication. In support of our commitment to helping our customers remain secure online and aligning to the requirements of the ATO Digital Service Providers framework, over the next quarter we will be rolling out changes to MYOB Advanced to enforce MFA for all users on the platform. There are several required steps to achieve this: All sites need to be upgraded to the2023.1.xxxrelease All users that are not using MFA need to transition to MFA The site will be updated making MFA mandatory Associated to this, there are also some changes being made to the MFA authentication solution to support best practice security including: A change to the time required for MFA authentication which will be set to 24 hours A 30min inactive user lock will be applied, currently this is set to 4 hours Additional details on each of the above: Site upgrades to 2023.1.xx A required authentication change was made to the 2023.1 release and all sites will need to be upgraded to this version. Due to the ATO requirements, we will be treating this upgrade as a mandatory compliance upgrade as such we will not be permitting opt-outs or reschedules for sites that are scheduled to be upgraded. Several sites are not scheduled to be upgraded to the 2023.1 release, as such we will be reaching out to make a plan to get them into an upgrade window before end of July. User transition to MFA We have a mix of how MFA has been adopted within sites, however, we the objective is to drive a full adoption of MFA for all users through all sites. To achieve this we will segment customers into cohorts and and support them with collateral outlining what needs to happen and how to transition. Each cohort will be given time to make the change, but a due date will be applied. On this due date the site will be updated to enforce mandatory MFA for all users. Change to 24 hour reauthentication Currently users have the option to "remember me" for 30days and within this period they will not be prompted to reauthenticate via MFA unless the adaptive MFA identifies a change in their user behaviour (i.e. logging in from a different network). This 30 days will be reduced to 24 hours essentially requiring a user to reauthenticate via MFA on a daily basis. 30min inactive user lock Currently, if a user is inactive in their session for a period of more than 4 hours, the system will lock and require the user to reauthenticate when they come back. Security best practice recommends this timeout period to be a maximum of 30mins and as such we will be dropping the timeout to the 30 minute mark for sites. To support all these changes we will be working through a change management program of how to roll this out to ensure that customers and partners are aware of the schedule for the changes, what is required and why we are doing it. Further details on this program of work will be provided in the upcoming weeks. On behalf of James Brading Domain Product LeadMYOB Advanced 2018.1.8 upgrade schedule

Hi all, The team has been working away on the integration of MYOB Bank Feeds into Advanced and we are now at a point where we want to start putting the functionality in front of partners and some users as part of an EAP to gain some feedback on the work that has been done. Inside this posting, I will outline the: The functional scope of the EAP The EAP process and expectations relating to the program Candidate sites we are looking for Preparation for the EAP If you do not read the full detail below, please read the summary at the bottom. Functional scope The bank feeds integration incorporates the application and delivery of bank feeds from the MYOB Bank Feeds service through to MYOB Advanced. The application process supports all types of accounts that are available through the MYOB Bank Feeds service. Practically this means: Transactional accounts requiring paper-based applications Transactional accounts requiring online applications Credit card accounts The scope of the bank feeds development does not incorporate any changes to the reconciliation process within MYOB Advanced. This functionality remains core functionality of MYOB Advanced. Please be aware of one functional limitation that currently exists. Each MYOB Advanced client is assigned to either Australia or New Zealand. This assignment limits the financial institutions that a site can obtain bank feeds for to institutions for that country. This assignment is not a setting inside MYOB Advanced. This means that, for example, a company that is registered with MYOB as an Australian client will only be able to receive bank feeds from Australian banks, even if they have both Australian and New Zealand bank accounts. We are working on a resolution to this limitation. EAP process The intention behind the EAP is to get feedback and assist partners and clients with the processes associated to the application and retrieval of bank feeds. To support this, the MYOB development team will take a very hands-on approach to the program, working through the application process with the client and partner, and then supporting them through the initial retrieval of the feeds. We would be looking for regular meetings with the client and partner to see how the client is using the functionality, getting their feedback and assisting where we can. The nature of the functionality would require the EAP to be run against a client’s production system, as such the site will need to be upgraded to a specific version. We are currently working through the logistics of the version. Candidate sites Initially, we are looking for 10 sites to participate in the program, ideally from both Australia and New Zealand. Annette Doo (Annette.doo@myob.com), the Development Lead for the team will be taking the lead for the EAP program so please can you contact her with any site nomination requests. Preparation for the EAP There will be some preparation steps required to participate in the EAP. This will involve the site being upgraded as mentioned earlier but will also require the site to nominate a person(s) that are authorized to apply for the bank feeds. These people will need to use 2FA to access Advanced and we will arrange for them to be setup inside the relevant MYOB systems. There is a meeting being held on Friday 25 January at 2:30 PM NZT to go through the Bank Feeds EAP program. Please join the session to find out more about the program.
