payroll stp choices not extensive enough

how do we report STP correctly when pur options for certain payroll items dont have the stp categories?

for example with child support deductions

the stp reporting is - deduction type D

Myob's options:  shown in screen shot.

also there is a PEA - Protective Earning amount stipulated by the Child support Agency

how is the person processing the payroll ( client with very limited knowledge and doesnt want bookkeeping form to process much of her data) supposed to ensure the conditions according to CSA and ATO are met and also process the pays correctly?

the online chat support had no idea what the topic of conversation was and was only able to provide support notes - which were irrelevant as setting up and actual deduction is not the issue.  and then they also conveniently ended the chat - great service!!!!!

so the only option i have is to select NOT Reportable which is totally incorrect.

    Hi, Dlmad

    Thanks for your post.

We truly apologise for the experience you've had on our other support channel. We take your feedback seriously and want to improve our services.

Generally, when assigning ATO reporting categories, we cannot give any advice on what category to choose. You may refer to the Help Article: Assign ATO reporting categories for Single Touch Payroll for more information on how to stay aligned with the ATO requirements and make sure that every payroll category is properly assigned to ATO reporting categories.

Please let us know if you require any further assistance with this.

    Best regards,

    Doreen

    Hi Dlmad,

After a thorough review, it's currently not possible to report child support deductions to the ATO via STP from AccountRight and MYOB Business/Essentials. This implies that you can designate 'Not Reportable' as the ATO Reporting Category in their child support deduction payroll categories. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. I encourage you to please take a moment to post on the MYOB Business/Essentials Ideas Exchange board for consideration.

Feel free to post again anytime if you require further assistance.

Deduction child support can be reported as not reportable as it is not a compulsory STP2 requirement at this stage.
