PAYG witholding inconsistency in July 2025

Hi Awesome peeps,

 

I am writing to report an inconsistency in the PAYG withholding for our recent pay run, I compared it with the last pay in June. Approx 5% had random randomly errors, and all of them were lower PAYG withholding. It happens accross all employees, both higher and lower-paid individuals.

 

it has also happened also before, sometimes even the hourly rate times how many hours does not add up correctly (simple calculations), but it happens randomly in the previous time. 

 

Iam wondering what is happening, this kind of glitch is worrying me, as I need to keep checking manually every pay, which I shouldn't have to do for something this simple.

 

Is there any glitch in PAYG withholding (or wrong simple calculation) reporting recently? Thanks.

    Hi IndigoHermawan

     

    Sounds like something’s a bit off with the calculations, based on what you’ve said. There are a couple of things we can check to sort it out. First up, have a look at whether any of those employee pay categories are exempt from PAYG. Then you can check the employee’s tax table in their card file. You’ll find this by heading to Card File > Cards List > Employee, then clicking the blue arrow next to their name, going into Payroll Details, and then the Taxes tab. Just double-check that the right tax table is set for them. 

     

    While you’re there, it’s also worth checking the Standard Pay section in Payroll Details. If there’s anything filled out incorrectly, it can mess with the pay run calculations. Give those a try and see if it clears things up.

    Hi Genreve

     

    I also have one employee (out of 4) that has a drop in his PAYG. Nothing has changed for him or in the MYOB settings yet the amount withheld has dropped without explanation. What do I do next?

    Looks like that one employee’s making your PAYG a bit trickier than usual. If you’ve already tried all the steps we talked about before, it might be time to give us a shout so we can dig a bit deeper.
