I'm not sure if you are using a Legacy version but some users of old versions have had success here:

I have found that disabling the Auto Confirmation allows you 14 days grace to get a confirmation code.

The links and advice on the page you cited do not work.
I suspect MYOB is trying to force people like me and all the other people unable to confirm their old files to upgrade to a new version of MYOB and pay a monthly subscription. I think it's unethical if not illegal to disable something we've paid for, but MYOB is an unethical company these days.
