Company file online confirmations after 17 June?

I am addressing this question to MYOB.

I use AccountRight desktop (PC) software. I purchased a perpetual desktop licence many years ago. Like many of your customers, I run multiple company files offline. It is simple. It is secure. It is cost effective.

I intend to stay on the pre-17-June version of MYOB. This is despite MYOB's decision to withdraw support for offline files.

But offline company files must be "confirmed" every so often via MYOB's online confirmation service.

Given MYOB's recent announcement, it is easy to imagine that after 17th June, MYOB might decide to switch off this confirmation service for pre-17-June company files. An unconfirmed company file can only be opened in read-only mode. No more transactions can be entered. This would immediately compel users to move their company files online under one or more monthly subscription plans.

Here is my question to MYOB: After 17th June, will users of pre-17-June software still be able to confirm their pre-17-June company files? What guarantees do we have that this service will not be withdrawn? For how long?

I seek an official response please.

Hi random_nuggets , the confirmation service will still work for PC edition after June 17 including if you are using a file and software version prior to 2026.5.

I would recommend using Server edition for offline files after June 17th though as re-installing an older version of PC edition repeatedly could be avoided by using SE instead.

    Hi Mike_MYOB and community.

    So, to summarise your response:

AccountRight Classic (V19 and older versions) --> one file confirmation allowed after 28th Feb, read-only thereafter.

AccountRight Server edition (SE) --> confirmations of pre-17-June files will still work after 17 June, no info about duration

AccountRight PC edition --> the software "will still work", but this doesn't answer my question about confirmations.

Permit me to clarify my question - If, after 17th June, I run a pre-17-June version of AR PC edition on a pre-17-June company file, and the company file needs to be confirmed, will the online confirmation service still confirm the file? Is there a "switch-off" date?

    Thanks.

    Hi random_nuggets,
This can depend on what version of software you are using and there are two separate announcements that will impact AccountRight perpetual customers.

AccountRight Classic (V19 and older versions) is being decommissioned and will fail confirmation and move to read only. See the update here that was made in November 2025.

More recently however, we have announced the end of offline mode for our current AccountRight PC edition.
If you intend to continue using your files offline, you can do this by installing AccountRight Server edition (SE) from our downloads  page.
AccountRight SE will still work with offline files, but will no longer receive any further updates after June 2026.

Confirmations will still be provided to AccountRight SE offline, but we cannot guarantee how long this software will continue working for. After June, it will be an unsupported product which runs on a software that could become incompatible with its environment (eg a windows upgrade). There are other risks with running entirely offline such as a potential file corruption or damage to your PC where you are storing your file and being unable to recover your data.

AccountRight PC edition, if installing a version prior to 2026.5 will still work with an offline file as well, but this has an automatic update built into it, so is not a good solution for people needing to regularly access their file offline, as they would need to re-download the older version repeatedly.
