I've just been giving it a proper workout for the first time this afternoon. It's a complete pig compared to v19. When transaction changes are made, other windows don't update instantly like v19 (an 'update' button on the bank register?!?), everything takes 3 times as long, the interface seems cleaner, but is not as readable as the old version. It seems like you're trying to drive long time users to look for alternatives.
It's great for you if you can say the new version is doing more in the background. As your customer, I couldn't care less. I just want it to work like it always has, and maybe with a few more features, given its age. If you're getting it to do more in the background, and that's destroyed my ability to efficiently use the programme, perhaps the back-end changes weren't such a great idea?
So, you also had a more efficient way to sync the online/offline files, but took that away to replace it with a 10-12 minute process? Genius.
I'm not a complainer. I honestly just cannot believe how bad and unusable you've made this product. I've used it for over 20 years quite happily, and now it's screaming at me to leave it behind.

Hi kd175 , a few suggestions/comments:
- v19 was a memory-resident program, fully local. AccountRight Plus is a desktop program but the file is "in the cloud', and that means there's a lot of processing and data transfer between your program and your data
- do you have sufficient memory on the Mac, and is sufficient part of that allocated to Parallels? What worked for v19 might not work for AccountRight Plus
- Is your internet connection fast enough? (Use speedtest.net to find out).
- was your v19 file very large? A large data file will present performance issues. Was the file purged before/during conversion? If data volumes are large, then consider occasional purges (only available via a 3rd party atm)
- the checkout and sync options were abandoned because of the overall performance impact on MYOB's (Microsoft's) servers
- Performance of the new range of AccountRight programs certainly merited your comments 5-10 years ago, but performance has steadily improved.
- As a comparison, I access a file from a Windows desktop which is 1.8GB (offline format), has huge customer list and high-volume sales invoices, and I do not have performance issues.
- why do you need to work offline?

Hi Mike!
- working offline - so not cloud dependant, right?
- 16GB memory, 6 allocated to Parallels (will test this with more later - but again, no issue with v19 in same Parallels environment),
- trying to work without connection, but 92/86Mb -7ms,
- both v19 and Plus files are small- 10-15MB,
- want offline access for speed (right...) and redundancy if we have connectivity problems. The online experience is just not snappy enough.
Would love to stay with this product, but currently looking at other options that don't assume that my 2 year old mac that runs *everything* else is the problem.

Hi kd175 , thanks for these comments. I see you meant that your file is local, sorry about that.
I don't think 6GB is enough for Parallels. I would increase it to 8GB immediately, then test the result. Also try with 10GB, unless you have heavy-duty Mac apps that have to run at the same time. I had mine set to 12GB, but then I wasn't using the Mac for anything else significant. Parallel's help topic is here: Improve virtual machine performance on Mac
Is your data file actually on a local drive, or is it in your iCloud drive (which is in the cloud, n'est-ce pas?). I would make sure it's on a local drive.
Do you have time machine or any other back-up software running continuously? Try excluding the AccountRight program folder. This used to be a key step to improve AccountRight's performance in Windows.
