That’s a tough one, a corrupted file and only one that opens is definitely not a great experience. We're keen to get this sorted for you. Nice work getting the cache cleared, by the way. You can still use your file offline, and even after you upgrade you’ll still have access to it. We have an AccountRight hotfix tool that usually fixes the “Something went wrong” error, explained in this forum post.
