Invoice PDF attachments

Hello,

Is there any way to make PDFs included by default when invoices are sent to customers?

I am certain the PDF option was previously "sticky" so it retained whatever was selected last time, and I had it turned on, but perhaps a recent update has changed this behaviour?

One of my customers has complained this morning that they did not receive a PDF invoice, so after I had a look I discovered the PDF option was not checked when I used the share function, when previously it was.

It is just a small thing, but it is something else I'll need to remember to do each time I send invoices out. A lot of my larger clients have automated systems that only look for PDF attachments and don't know how to click buttons in emails to retrieve invoices.

Thanks,

Kylie.

There’s no way to set the PDF option as default when sending invoices, but I get why a lot of people would want that feature. It’s a great idea! I’d recommend chucking it up on the Ideas Exchange board so others can vote for it and hopefully see it in a future update.

  • This is hugely frustrating.  This was able to be set as a permanent setting, and this has now been removed.  I have to remember to now click this box every time, as who in this day and age wants to click on a link they are emailed to view an invoice with added security issues.  I have had so many clients email about this before I realised it had changed.  Hopefully this is reverted back MYOB....

I'll do that, but what I find interesting is that I've never had to check the option before and it was always turned on previously.

Same has happened to me and I've had several of our customers complain - very annoying!

I agree, it is a great idea. That's why it was a feature previously. If you're able to turn the feature off, surely it's a quick fix to turn the feature back on again. Could you please advise when this is likely to be done, as it's a massive inconvenience to have to remember to tick that box on every single invoice we send out. I get that MYOB is trying to push customers to the online payment service that they collect fees from, but surely you can't be doing that at the cost our (your customer's) reputation.

        Hi studiocom,

Losing handy features like auto-attaching PDFs to emails can be a pain, especially since heaps of folks rely on it. If you want it back, chuck your vote on the post here; every vote highlights how much this functionality matters. With regards to the permanent discount, which is automatically applied to customer invoices, this feature isn’t available in MYOB Business. I’d recommend posting it on the ideas exchange board so others can vote for it and hopefully see it in a future update.

  • There was definitely an option to set the PDF option as default as I've been doing it this way for a long time, it stopped working somewhere around 17/6/25 and now I have to check the box for every single invoice, so frustrating!!!!  Please fix this ASAP MYOB!

While you're at it, please enable a way to give customers a permanent discount that automatically applies in invoices, I was able to do this in MYOB AccountEdge 20 years ago!
