Amanda, no one wants to give MYOB access to their private business information regardless how many posts you create. You shouldn't be asking for business turnover - it is none of MYOB's business. If your customers are paying the heavy subscription, you can't decide to cut off parts of the service like emailing invoices etc. Which brain came up with that move? And once I've complained, I get a phone call from MYOB trying to sell me a more expensive version of the software - coincidence? I don't think so. Return the full use of your software to your subscribers or you will see a lot of them just go somewhere else. In the meantime, I am just pdf-ing invoices and looking for ways to move to other software.
I wonder if anyone has approached Dept of Consumer Affairs with this nonsense and ask them what our Consumer rights are in terms of subscriptions and services being cut off.
ACCC won't do anything as their purpose is to protect consumers, not businesses. I contacted AFCA and lodged a case with them as the actions of MYOB are in my opinion unethical and potentially illegal. Once my case was lodged, MYOB immediately gave me a full exemption from the secure invoicing requirement. I suggest all other customers contact AFCA and lodged a case in the hope that MYOB will see some sense.

MYOB can't cut off services or features.
MYOB.... surely if this is the case, all customers that do not want to participate, should be given immediate full exemption!! Or do we all have to contact the AFCA to lodge a case??

Hi cramptons , each AFCA complaint is handled on a case by case basis, if the outcome for one customer was an exemption, this doesn't guarantee that the same would apply to all customers.
Its beyond private its invasive, requiring turn over, bank verifications, ID and Trust Deeds to verify the business, I have been with MYOB since the inception of our small business, and someone mentioned that MYOB should have this information just from being a loyal paying consumer of their business program. I commenced the process to verifiy the business but cease at the need to provide trust deed information, unfortunately I handed over ID info.
This is wrong that they require so much information just to send an email.. Is there another reason behind the madness
Hi Lambilia , a lot of the reasoning behind the change has been outlined in my post and subsequent replies under the main thread here
But to give it another go here, one of the outcomes this change hopes to achieve is to help reduce invoice fraud in Australia.
By ensuring that only a verified business can utilise the MYOB platform for distributing invoices, we are taking steps to help reduce invoice fraud for the end consumer.
Additional features like secure payments then provide added security for our customers when receiving payments while also helping get paid faster and save time reconciling.
The payments feature can absolutely be disabled after the upgrade if it is not wanted however.But surely the choice must be ours!!!!
