Why Why are you getting rid of the simple capture

The capture was simple.

Employees out buying stuff captured the invoice / receipt.

We had multiple people out doing this. We didn't require MFA OR multiple login's because it was a simple capture utility.

Now you have announced this assist rubbish will have to be used for capture with MFA and no shared accounts.

Thanks a lot..

  • I am afraid this doesn't SEEM like a step backwards, it IS a step backwards from functionality and accessibility.

The simple process of sending an invoice to myob using a shared user with little or no rights doesn't need MFA and separate logins. The only reason for this is the change to a new app that has a lot more more features - which are not needed for 99% of our people.
While this amazing new app is free now - I doubt it will remain free.

I have just received notice that the subscriptions are going up AGAIN apparently to enable MYOB to develop these rather annoying and limiting changes.

I agree with everyone's comments on leaving Capture alone. It works well & everyone can add their receipts very easily. Why get rid of something that works well. And there is not connection to MYOB itself so the data is safe. It just makes it harder for everyone who uses Capture to now have to set up something new & tricky.

Except it's really not, because staff keep getting logged out. We are a trade and have constant turn over, so having to manage yet another login for staff is frustrating and time consuming, especially when they are apprentices who use it maybe once a month. You have now made us do extra work and are now charging us more - just to manage something that was working in the first place.

An app that just takes photos and sends them to in-tray does not need MFA at all times. MYOB needs to stop giving us platitudes and figure out a way to to make this easier for their clients. If MFA has to stay, make it better. No one wants 30 individual staff logins to MYOB to manage receipts.

MYOB removed the simple capture feature, replacing it with MYOB Assist, which requires MFA and personal accounts. Users miss the old utility because it allowed multiple employees to upload receipts easily without extra logins. Now capture is more secure but less convenient for shared team use.

    Hi leibholdqpbc,

I can see why this feels like a step backwards. If the old capture setup was working smoothly for your team, having to switch things up can be a real pain. You're right that with the move to Assist, each person now needs their own login and MFA turned on, no shared accounts anymore. I know that's not as simple as the old "snap and send" workflow, especially when you've got a few staff out on the road grabbing receipts. The change is mainly around tightening up security and keeping data tied to the right user, but I get that it doesn't make things feel easier day-to-day. The good news is once everyone's set up, capture itself is still pretty quick. It's just that initial setup that's a bit of a hurdle.

    Regards,

    Sai
