Excess number of employees in payrun

We have a payroll of 55 staff on our accounting business program. It has suddenly stopped recording pays to the ATO until I drop the employees to 35 or so. I then have to put in the remainder. How do I get around this? Second problem, when we add a new staff member, they previously inserted a base salary line. The employees are casual, and so the amount was shown as a few cents. How do I get rid of this?

    Hi BarryM1,

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Appreciate you walking us through what's been happening with your payroll. For the STP reporting to the ATO, there actually shouldn't be a limit on the number of employees when you're using MYOB AccountRight. So you shouldn't need to split the pay run just to get it reported. Since it only seems to work when you drop the employees to around 35, that's a bit unusual and likely something our team will need to take a closer look at in the file to see what's causing it. The best way to get this sorted is to jump onto our live chat support through our virtual assistant, MOCA, or submit a case via My Account, where the team can check the STP reporting with you in real time.

For the base salary line appearing for casual employees, that usually comes from the Wages section in the employee card. If Base Salary is ticked there, it'll automatically show in the pay run. Which is why you might see that small cents amount appear. You can remove it by going to employee card > Payroll Details > Wages then untick the Base Salary so only the relevant casual wage category is selected. Once that's unticked, it shouldn't appear in future pays for that employee. For the few cents that may have already been processed, you can simply adjust it in the next pay run to balance it out.

Sai, thank you for your reply. I have fixed the base salary problem. I

removed the cents from the standard pay for each affected staff member. The payroll numbers are an ongoing issue. This has been happening for a while. I contacted support once before live, and the only solution they came up with was removing staff until it went through. She said then it "sometimes happens," so I believe MYOB should be aware. The number to be removed appears to be growing. When it first appeared, it took about 10 staff, now it 35 staff. I would appreciate an investigation into this issue, please. (Our total staff run is about 80 staff.)

I went in to the community page and searched for similar problems. Here's what I found, so don't tell me it's an "unusual problem". See Helen Holman's post

There are still a lot of these issues here that were not copied. Go to this issue and check. Please tell me a solution or why it can't be fixed, and a workaround

    Hi BarryM1,

Thanks for taking the time to look through the Community and sharing that post as well. The main reason we're asking you to reach out to our support team is so they can mark your account as affected by the issue. Since this looks to be something happening on the backend, our team needs to log the affected accounts so the developers can see exactly how many users are impacted. They'll also be able to check your file specifically and investigate a bit deeper to confirm if it's the same issue you've seen mentioned in the Community.

    Regards,

    Sai
