PaySuper Authorisation

So to clarify, MYOB has no rule that says only a bank signatory can be an Authoriser or Pay Super Administrator.

Do you know if this authorisation process constitutes an AUSTRAC Designated Service?

Authorisers and bank signatories can sometimes be mistaken for having access to each other's roles. Authorisers are not persons on the bank account. Anyone set up in Pay Super as an Authoriser or Pay Super Administrator (including a bookkeeper) with a verified mobile can authorise super payments via SMS. The business chooses who has those roles in Pay Super settings, and changes to authorisers/bank details go through the Pay Super Change of Details form, so the bank account owner is still in control.

The person who completes the Pay Super setup has to be a bank signatory. Once that's all set, any additional Authoriser or Pay Super Administrator doesn't have to be bank signatory. As for AUSTRAC, no, this authorisation process in the software doesn’t itself constitute an AUSTRAC designated service. AUSTRAC is focused on AML/CTF obligations for funds and financial institutions handling the money, not on your internal approval roles.
