Problem Creating a Payroll ABAB Bank File

Hi,

I've just taken over payroll in the company I work for, although I have many years Myob Payroll experience in my previous company.  I have administrator access and I've sorted out adding myself as a person who can declare the payrun to ATO.  The payroll has been processed but now suddenly I'm unable to create an ABA file to upload to the bank.  Not sure why as I'm also accounts payable and had no issues previously.  What could be causing this please?

Thanks - Mel

    Hi Melisa_D

Were you able to look at the new file I uploaded or have any ideas??  I'm unable to upload my end of month payments and still have the payroll sitting open in Myob.

    Thanks.

    Hi Mel3066

Apologies for the delay in my response, at times we may take a little longer than expected to reply.

I can see that there is quiet a few System.UnauthorizedAccessException errors. If you're on a server, can you access the AccountRight file on a local computer that is not on the server and attempt to create the ABA file. Does it work or do you get the same error message ?

    Hi Melisa_D

Thank you, it's been stressing me out!

I don't know how this Myob has been set up, as I'm new to the company.  But when I try to upload my aba file, it looks like it goes to our company drive.  One of the guys thinks the link name may be too long, which could be why we are getting the error.  Unfortunately it doesn't allow me to choose where to save the aba file to, the error kicks in before I have that chance.  I'm lost as to how to fix this.

    Hi Melisa_D

I've just gone into import/export wizard, hoping to export payroll file and have received the same error pop up screen, unable again to view error details on the pop up.  Not sure if that info helps..

    Hi Mel3066

If the same error message is appearing when attempt to export manually, I would recommend getting the host of the server or the IT that have set this up to check that you have the right permissions to be able to export/save the document.

If possible, you could try to access the AccountRight file via a different computer that isn't linked to the server to see if you can create the bank file.

    Hi Melisa_D

I've just tried the aba file upload from my personal laptop and the file is uploading perfectly.  So this is to do with the permissions I have on my company drive?  Can I uninstall Myob from my pc, reinstall and change the settings as to where the aba file saves?

    Hi Mel3066

Great to hear that worked on the personal laptop.

This would be an environmental issue with the server that you're connected to, this is something I'd recommend getting your IT to assist with as they would have access to permissions.
