Unable to Process Super for a New Employee Awaiting TFN

Dear MYOB Support Team,

I am using MYOB AccountRight and have recently added a new employee who has applied for a Tax File Number (TFN) but is still waiting for it to be issued.

MYOB prompted me to enter 11111111 as the TFN while the employee’s TFN application is pending. However, when I try to process the employee’s superannuation payment through MYOB Pay Super, I receive the following error message:

“You need to enter a valid TFN for this employee.”

As a result, I am unable to process the superannuation payment for this employee.

Could you please advise me on the correct way to handle this situation in MYOB AccountRight?

I would appreciate your step-by-step guidance on how to resolve this issue.

Thanks

Toby

    Hi Princess

Thank you for help! Using 000 000 000 worked. I'll update the employee's TFN once i receive it.

    Many Thanks

    Hi TobyFung,

Thanks for checking in! TFN holdups can really drag things out.

Pay Super uses SuperStream validation, which means alternative ATO TFN codes such as 111, 333 or 444 may not be accepted, even though they can still work for STP reporting. You could try changing the TFN to 000 000 000 first to see whether that clears the error. You can also check the solution shared in this thread, as it may help resolve the issue. If the error continues, the best next step would be to check with the ATO about which TFN should be used for super. In the meantime, you can still pay the super directly to the fund and record the payment manually in AccountRight, so you can remain compliant.

    Cheers,

    Princess
