Read Only access

How do I create a user account so they can only have Read Only access.

And can I limit them to just see a certain part of Account Right (Jobs reports)?

    Hi Captain_CJ

Looks like you're looking to tweak one user's access in the system.

Yes, there's a way to customize user access in the file. Once you've assigned a role to a user, you can fine-tune exactly what kind of access that role gives them.

For more details on how to do this, check out the article 'Set Up Roles'.

Give that a read, and if you need any other help, let us know.

    Hi Captain_CJ,

Thanks for your response. If you're the file administrator, you can set up a read-only user in AccountRight by navigating to Setup >> User Access >> selecting their user ID (on the left-hand side) and checking the "Read Only" option (on the right-hand side).

Feel free to post again, we're happy to help!

    Earl,

As you see from my screen shot, I am an administrator but I do not see "User Access" from within MYOB.

    Hi Captain_CJ

Thanks for the quick reply. I get that you're having trouble seeing the "User Access" option in MYOB as an administrator. This issue is caused by a corruption in the user profiles. However, I've made some adjustments to the account. Please log out, clear your AccountRight cache, and log back in again to see if it fixes the issue.

If the issue persists, please feel free to let us know or reach out to our virtual assistant, MOCA, on our website for immediate assistance.

Otherwise, if my response has answered your inquiry, please click "Accept as Solution" to help other users find this information.

    Kind regards,

    Shella

    Hi Captain_CJ

Thanks a lot for giving the reboot a shot and testing if the fix did the trick.

Based on everything in your file, it seems like your UserID might not have the administrator role added from inside the file. Here's what you can do: get another admin to open up the User Access and add the Administrator role to your UserID. Your user ID should look something like the screenshot below.

The other admin just needs to locate your User ID and add the User role Administrator. And if they're not sure which userID belongs to you, you can click the "Switch company file user" to see what autofills the User ID box to identify your it.

If you're still running into issues accessing the User Access menu after giving this a whirl, you might want to swing by help sites like myob.com/support or myaccount.myob.com to find MOCA, our trusty virtual assistant. MOCA's usually great for quick queries and assistance, and if they can't help, they'll seamlessly pass you over to our live chat team.
