MYOB printing unwanted How to Pay page

Hi,

When I print my customised invoices, MYOB also prints a How To Pay page. However, the How to Pay doesn't appear on my customised invoice when I try to edit it, so I can't delete it.

I tried other custom invoices and it prints with them too.

Please help.

Alex.

  • It was a useful feature gap for a lot of us - who are using the print and save PDF features to get away from the automatic provision of a payment link for a lot of customers, printing straight invoices for dispatch etc. Many of which were already paid so don't actually bloody need a QR Code so it's a completely waste and a potential route for customer confusion.

This should be a tickbox option to be enabled/disabled rather than forced as a global choice for all instances of the invoice issuing

I know MYOB as a whole is a little understandably obsessed with funnelling everything towards MYOB's payment gateway at all instances (because of challenges from Square etc. etc.) but whoever is leading these choices needs to understand that it's really not always appropriate and as businesses we need to be empowered to make that decision when to use and in what instance.

For a lot of us - especially doing B2B and providing invoices for things that are ALREADY PAID on eCommerce websites etc. - funnelling towards MYOB Payment gateway is inappropriate, irrelevant and potentially confusing for our customers (especially with my particular industry niches). On my end, I will have to completely disable the MYOB Payment option completely for us, when I actually did find it very useful in certain cases where I needed a PCI-compliant credit card link sent via email.

Expecting business customers to have to get fiddly with invoice printing and settings is really just kind of asinine to remove that page. I'm sorry, but that's not a serious work-around to be asking of people doing finance work.

  • How about a bit of transparency by showing your stupid QR code page on the invoice templates?  Having it just appear from the ether without consultation and with no sensible way to get ride of it is unacceptable. At least if it magically appeared in the templates your poor longsuffering customers could just delete the blessed thing.  Like some others, we have deactivated online payments altogether.  Also like some others, we are impatient and not understanding, so your thanks is misguided.

    Hey eZRYM

There's been some confusion surrounding the latest update to AccountRight and the change in how invoices are printed.

Previously, there was a feature gap where exported invoice PDFs from AccountRight didn't include the "How to Pay" section, while emailed invoice attachments and MYOBB invoices did. With this update, we've standardised the PDF format so customers' clients receive a consistent, professional-looking invoice no matter how it's generated or shared.

I completely understand why some customers may find the additional page frustrating, particularly if they're printing invoices and see it as wasted paper. There are a couple of workarounds available:

    • If you don't need the payment information page, you can choose to print only the first page by downloading the invoice then printing it. e.g. click Print -> select printer and it saved the PDF in local -> open the saved PDF via browser for example -> can choose which page to print.
    • Print double-sided to reduce paper usage.

Hopefully that provides some context for the change

Hi Amanda, Rather than forcing this change on most customers that don't want this feature and then now making every invoice a tedious workaround, make it a checkbox. It just goes to show how little everyone involved at MYOB understands the purpose of their own product.

How on earth does having to print into a pdf choosing only to print the first page create less work and increase efficiency using our accounting program.

Imagine having to do that for hundreds of invoices.

I'm actually saddened that just about every update to MYOB lately has created issues and unintended consequences, or worse deliberate consequences that make things more intrusive to clients of MYOB.  It seems as though there is a disconnect by devs or decision makers of the devs than ever before.

Also feel sorry for the mods here, you are the front line and have to answer from us when most likely the product's direction lately isn't in your hands

      Hi Amanda,

I don't want the barcode to appear when I print my invoices please. How do we remove the barcode? I printed 50 invoices without realising that they have 2 pages. Such a waste. There should be option to show/ not the barcode.
I have to print many invoices & don't want to have extra steps to only print page 1 by following your above suggestion.

This is not an acceptable work around. I suggest you have an option to remove this if required otherwise you will have a lot of unhappy customers.

Hi Amanda, my business is also finding this an issue. We send invoices electronically to our customers software and it is now picking up the second "how to pay" page as an additional line item and causing invoices to be rejected. Could you please let me know when this issue is rectified. Thanks

This is the 3rd time MYOB has done this with immediate negative feedback from every customer. It's impressive to say the least.

      Hi Amanda,

Hope the new update can accommodate our request. There is no option for printing pages, maybe before the update release, test first if that can be done. Now I can print without the barcode by turn-off the online payments.

    Hey everyone.

We've heard your feedback about the additional "How to Pay" page being included when printing invoices from AccountRight desktop, and we understand the impact this has had on your workflows.

The team has prioritised a better solution, we are working on a new print setting in AccountRight desktop that will allow you to exclude or include the "How to Pay" page when printing invoices.

We're targeting this change for the next AccountRight release, which is expected in mid-July.

Thank you for your patience and for taking the time to share your feedback. It has helped us understand and priortise this work, and we're committed to getting the solution to you as soon as possible.

In the meantime, here are a couple of workarounds:

    • If you don't need the payment information page, you can print only the first pages by selecting the appropriate page range in your print settings, or print double-sided to reduce paper usage.
    • If you're printing invoices to use as packing slips, AccountRight has a dedicated Packing Slip feature that's designed specifically for this purpose. You can find more information here.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding. We'll continue to keep you updated as we get closer to the release.

Thank you Amanda. Will this also be resolved for emailing invoices? as there is no option to select what pages of the invoice you send?

If you turn off online payment services it will remove the page

    Hi all,

I want to acknowledge the frustration this recent feature change has caused.

This change was released as part of the new payment schedule functionality so payment schedules would appear on printed invoices. It’s clear this has had a significant impact on your workflows, and that the current workarounds, as well as waiting until July for a fix, aren’t good enough.

We’ve shared your feedback with our product teams, and they’ve decided to roll back this part of the release.

    Here’s what that means:

    • From next Tuesday afternoon, invoices printed from AccountRight desktop will no longer include the “How to Pay” page. If you’re using payment schedules, they won’t appear on invoices printed through this flow, but they will still appear as expected everywhere else (ie. if you preview invoices, print through the browser, export as a PDF, etc.). You will need to make sure your software has updated to the latest version.
    • In July, we’ll reintroduce this section, which includes both payment schedules and “How to Pay”, as a configurable print setting under the Preferences tab in  AccountRight, so you can turn it on or off as needed.
    • From September, we plan to further enhance the experience so you can print payment schedules without the “How to Pay” information.

We’re listening to your feedback, and we really appreciate the time you’ve taken to raise this on the community forum.

      Hi Amanda,

This correction still does not fix invoices that are emailed.

Can you please advise if there is a correction in place to not include the"how to pay" page for emailed invoices? I had asked this to you last week and it still hasnt been addressed in your response.

In my opinion it would be preferrable to have the "How to Pay" section included in the customisation of the forms so people could modify their invoices to include that section while also keeing it on the one page.

    Hi all.

We released an update last night which means invoices printed from AccountRight desktop will no longer include the 'How to Pay' page.  If you’re using payment schedules, they won’t appear on invoices printed through this flow, but they will still appear as expected everywhere else (ie. if you preview invoices, print through the browser, export as a PDF, etc.).

    For your context:

    • In August, we’ll reintroduce this section, which includes both payment schedules and “How to Pay”, as a configurable print setting under the Preferences tab in AccountRight, so you can turn it on or off as needed.
    • From September, we plan to further enhance the experience so you can print payment schedules without the “How to Pay” information.
