Registering for E Invoicing - E for "Error"?

Hi,

We are using Account Right Standard NZ 2024.6.0 (Build 2024.6.1.9) and we recently decided to register for e invoicing (https://www.einvoicing.govt.nz/get-set-up/small-and-medium-businesses).  Our AR file is online, so I duly opened MYOB in the browser, went to Settings, then "Register for E-Invoicing".  I filled in all of our company details (NZBN etc) and got the message:

"Something went wrong. Please try again or refresh the browser"

I normally use Brave as my standard browser, and I'm aware it doesn't behave well with some sites, so, I tried another browser (Chrome) and got the same error message.  I then tried MS Edge (I still feel dirty) and got the same result.  I tried logging out of MYOB and just doing it via the online website without having the desktop version open and got the same message.  I tried this on all three browsers again.

Is there something I'm not doing right?  Has anyone else had this problem?

Turn it off and on again?

Regards,

Eric.

    Hi Eric3 ,

I appreciate your detailed post. When this issue occurs, please check if there are any invalid characters in the invoice number. If there are, remove them and ensure the invoice number is numeric only. I also recommend clearing your browser's cache and history or trying a new incognito window in Chrome. Thank you!

    Regards,
    Earl

      Hi Earl,

I copied and pasted the invoice number from our last invoice, so this is unlikely to be the problem.

      Hi again Earl,

I've also just tried using Chrome's incognito mode (which raised a couple of eyebrows) to register, nothing.

I don't want to clear my cache and history in my main browser because all my passwords for various sites etc will disappear.  I tried using MS Edge with a cache and history cleared browser - nothing.  This is a system problem.

      E.

    Hello Eric,

Did you resolve your problem with registering for eInvoicing?  I'm having problems and can't get MYOB AR to accept the registration.  I've tried several businesses - one was successful, but the business I need to register is getting the 'something went wrong' message.  I've cleared cache history and gone incognito.  HELP!!!!!

      Hi Janet,

No, I haven't been able to fix this problem, also, when I try to contact MYOB help via the chat line, it just hangs up on me.

I've cleared the cache history and cookies on another browser, tried it from a different computer (desktop), tried it from my mobile phone - nothing works.

I've got a feeling that I don't have the correct authority to actually sign up for this, so will try to convince my boss to "do the needful".

      Good luck.

        Thanks Eric,

I have online access as administrator so I don't know if that is the problem my end.  I'll give 'chat' a go and talk to a bot, or get the owner to register. Good luck to you too.  It shouldn't be this hard!  Sigh.

Me too, I have no idea what's going on, got frustrated and decided to leave it before I threw something at the monitor.  Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks!

    Eric,

I have been chatting to live chat.  They believe that the client is already registered with einvoicing (not through MYOB) and that's why the error comes up.  I'm now talking to my client to see if they registered, somehow, and then will go from there.  I'll keep you posted.
