TFN not required for under 18 year olds

Hi Princess, we too are having this issue. The employee has applied for a TFN even though he doesn't need one as under 18 but the SGC deadline is approaching and we are unable to process the super as we have entered the 333 333 333. There really should be a fix in MYOB to prevent this issue.

Thanks Doreen, I am aware that 333 333 333 is allowed when paying someone under the age of 18, however MYOB Super Pay rejects it as invalid when trying to make the payment to your clearing house.

We are having this same issue. The system comes up with a red X saying that we have not provided a correct TFN for this employee when we go to pay the super through the MYOB 'Pay Super' clearing house option, however, the employee is under 18yo and waiting on their TFN and I have entered TFN as 333 333 333 and the error still stands. Please help.

While an under 18 year old who earns less than threshold is not required to provide a TFN for PAYG purposes, same does not necessarily apply to super. The super funds might use the TFN to correctly identify the individual. Suggest the employee apply for and provide the TFN. Might be easier than getting MYOB to change the software.

Why has MYOB not fixed this????
