When creating an invoice it would be great if I could attach my own document to the invoice, a document not to be sent to the client, just retained on the customer file. If a business has many small expenses that are too numerous to add each one manually and then allocate a bank payment to that invoice or receipt, it'd be fantastic to be able to upload the receipt while allocating the transactions on the bank feed page. I know we can upload these receipts in another way, but doing it while on the actual bank feeds/transactions page would make it so easy and streamlined, saving heaps of time going back and forth and checking that it's correct, in the right place, right name, right amount. I've attached a screenshot of a transaction on the bank feeds page with a new link shown as "upload". Selecting that would present a way to upload the receipt. Part of the process would have to be to allocate to an expense account (or capital expenditure) and of course the system would have to do all the right things with it at the back end. The user may have to check that GST calcs are correct as is the total but this could be shown on the screen and the user just needs to ok it. Please add the ability to add a detailed journal memo field to statement template as their is in Account Right. I have recently switched over to MYOB Business and now when I send out statements the journal memo shows as a generic field, so there is no details as to what the invoice was actually issued for. It would be great to be able to access/update customer details directly from the "Invoice" screen on MYOB Essentials. Currently if you want to check that you have the correct email or contact person you are invoicing, you have to close the invoice, search and edit contact details if necessary and then once you've saved the updated details, search and open the invoice again before you can send it. This seems to be tediously time consuming! A direct link to "contact" from the invoice screen and then a "save & return to invoice" option on the contact screen would save heaps of time. Totally understand upgrading for security etc....but the new features and layout are hard to read, clumsy to navigate, takes longer to input data and is not user friendly at all, especially when invoicing. This is all to do with design not security. Also information/data is very slow to upload or send...sometimes not even notifying when it has. I realise there will be some hiccups, but this new format is not easy to navigate or use like before and doesn't save the right info etc...eg. when invoices have been sent etc..Here's just a few things, there is way more but at this time of year I just don't have time to record everything. When you open items, more appeared in dropdown and was easier to read Can't change the Due Date easily like last time, just had calender that dropped down now have to type in number of days - we change this regularly for some clients who aren't in a position to pay within our usual terms Qty unit doesn't come up automatically when you input an item yourself (not using a code). Nor as an option - have to type it in. Can't just push print button have to muck around exporting Hard to read items when inputting - every line is the same colour - would be great if every second was a differentshade - like last time When creating an item - would be great to have it at the ID at the top again as this is one of the first things to put into the system when doing this To remove an item when doing an invoice you have to click the three dots then click remove - use to just be a cross next to it to remove an item - was quick and easy...takes too long doing it this way. The add button was a plus at the beginning of the line originally, much better idea to keep this. When you push save it still stays on invoice screen instead of going back to list of invoices and/or having access to the top bar straight away - one click is better than click and scroll to get to create new or having to scroll to the top of the page to choose where you want to go next. When you email it goes back to the list of invoices though. Be great it it also did this when saving. Items - would go in numerical order then alphabetical - all over the show now. When you create a new item the Item ID is third down - was first before and really should stay that way as the most important line out of the 3 When you tab it doesn't fill in the Quantity to 1 straight away - leaves blank so you have to type in everytime single time Sales I could just type SA and it would come up...no I have to type 200 which when trying to sort invoices quickly is very labour intensive The whole item number doesn't show in invoicewhen inputting Every item comes up with no inventory items. What does this mean?!?! Printed sign doesn't come up under activity for invoices only email. If I put an item number in and push return straight away keepsbringing up a new window to create a newitem. Much easier before you just clicked on it at the top if you needed to create a new one - prefer to enter items quickly. When you put in your item when invoicing the cursor would skip automatically to the quantity - this doesn't happen any more, was really handy as saved a step. Now have to highlight and delete/change Transactions - hard to read all bold - too much bold makes it hard to read...last set up easier to navigate Transactions would disappear when they were allocated now all stay there - with that and everything in bold it's hard to work out what's been done and what hasn't Was much easier to navigate when amount was first and then allocate to appropriate account. When allocating transactions - Interest for example it used to automatically come up with Interest Income or Expense depending if it was a deposit or withdrawal. Now you have to scroll and search. When you search for an item it doesn't pop up and highlight search word and for eg. if I want to add ball or fix if I type ball it doesn't even come up only if I add ball o?!?!? I've emailed all these invoices below but it still shows one of them that hasn't when it has. This happened with another customer so I emailed it to them again but they said they got the first one?!!? Also the contacts and who is addressed in emails has changed - use to come up with their name now it doesn't so I'll have re-enter every single contact to Contact Person - I just don't have time for this. Top tabs needs to be frozen so you don't have to keep scrolling up to do something else. When you save an invoice it stays on the page instead of how it use to go back to open invoices and you could create a new one. When you email an invoice though it goes back to open invoices. Also to note - if you plan any major upgrades etc...in the future, please don't do it during an busy time of year like Christmas/End of Year....added stress that is not necessary. I hope the features and layout will be rectified soon as this is causing more of our time to process our invoices, transactions etc...which is very unproductive for our small business. Payment terms for bills in AR Cloud version
Really need to have a function to be able to set default payment terms for each supplier to make sure the correct due date comes up on the bill when entered. It's there in the AR Desktop version but not the cloud based version. It's very frustrating to have to look at each bill for due dates, payment terms. When customers pay using the MYOB online payment option the surcharge amount needs to then be added as a new line item to the invoice. Currently the surcharge does not appear on the invoice and as such the payment value does not match the invoice value. There needs to be a new line item added automatically when the online payment is received and then the invoice updated to reflect the correct total paid and then closed off as it is now paid.. I am having stoushes with multiple customers as their bookkeepers are pulling their hair out due to my invoices not matching the amount paid! I'd like the ability to take a photo of receipts and then attach them to the transaction in the banking screen. This will make it really easy for businesses to keep their records and also will help bookkeepers and accountants when working on their client's file. I've got a few clients who would really benefit from this as they are constantly travelling and loosing the actual receipts. It will also save the accountants asking for copies of invoices if they are already attached to the transaction. I've recently spoken with a couple of people who raved about this functionality that their online software provider has and it would be great if MYOB's customers could do the same. On MYOB Business, once the pay run is complete you have an option to email payslips or ptint payslips. The email option allows you to send all the payslips with a press of 1 button. Hi Again MYOB, I am working my way through using the new report packs and I am finding some difficulties with the custom report name and custom report description. I have created a custom report that I would like to use in my report pack and I have given it a name to identify it as being a customised report. i.e. BalanceSheetLastYearNoCents. In the Description field I have just entered Balance Sheet. When I create my report pack template, I can see this customised report based on the report name and I select to use that report. HOWEVER, when I run the report rather than getting the description Balance Sheet in the Table of Contents, I get the code BalanceSheetLastYearNoCents. How do I get the correct description rather than the report's Name because I am unable to select the report by it's Description when I setup the template. You should have a feature in Essentialsfor when a customer overpays, the additional amount can be applied to their next invoice easily. At present there is no function to process an overpayment except to change the invoice amount temporarily so that the payment can be allocated, then you have to change the invoice back to the original amount. It would be handy to have a facilty that stores the amount of credit owing to a customer and asks if you want to apply it when the next invoice is generated. When I went to Reports to get our customer list, I was surprised that the list was not ordered alphabetically. I'm surprised that I even have to post it as a subject, because it is such an obvious thing that lists must be arranged alphabetically or in some other workable order to be useful. What is the point of having a randomly mixed list of customers? It's impossible to find a name there quickly, which is why you need one. So, MYOB developers can you please make changes so that the customer or supplier lists are generated an alphabetical order. The contacts are indeed listed alphabetically when you reach them through View Contacts, however when one needs to have them printed out, the list in Reports is generated in a random fashion. I have been looking into using Essentials for a client and being able to recommend it others. Most of my clients use Service invoices & so need space to type descriptions rather than items & the ability to show only the description coloum & for some the price coloum on the right. Essentials Live would be the perfect package if there was the ability to do this. Most of my clients would like to use Essentials as it is a true live version, where as Accounts right still need a program on a computer to access it and can't be accessed on there smart phones or tablets. Please, please, please recode your pages/containers to elimante the hardcoded maximum display width of 1366 pixels. Very few people would work with a monitor with less than 1920x1080 resolution these days, many would be higher. So much usuable screen space is wasted by squeezing your views into 1366 pixels, the split view option is almost unusable as each view gets about 680 pixels. Flex containers will shrink down for those on 1366 pixel displays, please relax these outdated bounds and let us use our monitors to their extents. Such a change will likely also reduce complaints about narrow column widths as less contrained flex containers will allocate more pixels to each column. Thanks for changing my business over to new essential a week before christmas . I was not happy!!! Now tell me why MYOB decided to change things so much. I need to print all my invoices for my boss to check. I will write up about 70 to 90 invoices a week. Now I have to go into every invoice and print it takes me about 1-2hrs more each week. So if it's not enough that staff are not listed by surname, now I have this issue where the list in the bank file is different to the pay run summary report so checking off is very difficult. Neither the bank file or the pay run report seem to be in alphabetical of first or last name - I can't figure what either are ordered by. The Session Report will allow us bookkeepers / accountants to print off the list of adjustments we did and forward to the client so they can learn the best coding practices. The Audit Trail report would show which user has done what when - so we can see if/when a transaction has been adjusted and why.
