We require an immediate capability to stop payment reminders associated at the invoice level. Issue: Our current challenge pertains to the need for a precise method to halt reminders at the individual invoice level, or alternatively, to place a temporary hold on them. This issue directly impacts two of our clients. One is presently on vacation. The second client requested the suspension of their project for a short duration. At the bottom of each invoice, there are no available options except for the deletion of the invoice. (refer to Screenshot-1). Partial Resolution: We are aware that you have the ability to discontinue reminders at the client level. However, upon contacting customer support today, they reiterated that reminders can only be stopped at the customer level, not at the invoice level. (refer to Screenshot-2). I inquired with customer support about the possibility of receiving prompts to re-enable reminders when creating the next invoice after stopping them at the customer level. Regrettably, customer support confirmed that there would be no such prompts. While pausing reminders at the customer level may be suitable for certain scenarios, it is not a viable solution for these specific clients and our business case. A Critical Software Flaw: If we choose to disable reminders for these clients, we will encounter two significant issues. Firstly, our workload will increase as we will need to maintain a record of which clients have had reminders stopped and remember to reinstate reminders for future invoices when these two clients reactivate their projects. Secondly, and perhaps more detrimental, is the fact that one client expected to receive automated reminders for additional separate invoices related to smaller jobs. Due to the disabling of reminders, they will no longer receive automated notifications for these invoices. Am I Overlooking Anything? During my research for alternative solutions, I came across information on the MYOB website (https://www.myob.com/au/solutions/small-business) stating that we can "Automate your operations..." (paragraph 4). Additionally, the Simplified billing with online invoicing section mentions a feature such as "...automated payment reminders (for those who need a nudge)." If my interpretation of this website information is accurate (please correct me if I am mistaken), disabling reminders for our clients and subsequently sending them additional invoices would result in a failure to "Automate our operations" and access the "automated payment reminders" feature. So now I have disabled reminders and if I send future invoices, will we now be paying for something we are not receiving? Does this website information require correction? Alternative Solutions: A straightforward solution can be found in ZOHO Books (https://www.zoho.com/au/books/), our previous accounting software, which offers the ability to stop & start reminders at the invoice level. (refer to Screenshot-3). Given that MYOB is a premium accounting SaaS product, this falls short of our expectations. Resolution: 1) Implement the capability to stop reminders at the invoice level. 2) If not feasible in the immediate future, MYOB should consider revising the wording on the website to align with the actual functionality of the software, as the current promise appears unfulfilled in our case. One of the most useful items to me with the previous Dashboard in Live Accounts was the PAYG and GST estimates which would update themselves automatically as you allocated transactions in accounts. As the quarterly BAS payment is made up of PAYG and GST and Superannuation is a seperate payment doesn't it make sense to have a 'You owe the ATO" or "The ATO owes you" which is the combined figure of both and then the super you owe seperately? After every session I could glance at that figure and put money aside in preparation accordingly. Also the previous quarters estimate would still be visible on the Dashboard once the date ticked over as obviously nobody has finalised their Jan - Mar BAS on April 1st!! For more than seven years I used I used the desktop version of MYOB. It has the VERY USEFUL "Prepare Bank Deposit". I was convinced to use MYOB Essentials as it would allow me to get invoicing done quicker but with the current TAKE PAYMENTS issue and the lack of the Prepare Bank Deposit, I'm considering going BACK to the OLD FASHIONED way. I have been using MYOB Essentials for a number of years. My issue is with creating invoices and not having a function to manually alter the GST amount. Some of my invoices have GST free disbursements, so when I create an invoice, it automatically calculates GST on the whole of the invoice amount, which is not an accurate reflection of the GST payable. So then I need to create another line with the GST free amount, which involves having to pull out my calculator and do the physical calculations. This same issue arises with entering Expenses. Some bills that I receive have GST free items, but when entering Expenses, the GST is calculated on the whole invoice amount. Is there a reason why one of the leading accounting software developers cannot make a minor upgrade to their Essentials software to enable users to insert data in a more timely manner? I work in a medical practice and am reasonably happy with the MYOB Essentials package, but I need to be able to change some of the wording on the invoice templates for example instead of 'Purchase Order' I need to put 'Claim Number' as the companies that I need to send the invoices to are having trouble working out that that is the claim number. I agree with the other users who have asked for a discount column (in both invoices and expenses). It was the one feature that almost convinced me not to switch from AccountEdge to LiveAccounts. Also, the fact that price fields are limited to 2 decimal points now means that when the total GST inclusive price shows up, it is often incorrect. For example, if an itemsells for$3.50 including GST, it is set up in the item list as having a price of $3.18 excluding GST, but then when entering an invoice, say somebody bought10 of this item, the total price including GST comes out at $34.98, not $35. A fix would be either to increase the number of decimal places or to allow a GST inclusive option in the item details. This is wasting a lot of time for me. "Discount column... Currently LiveAccounts only offers a GST exclusive Item Sell price and two decimal places for the price. This causes issues like the following: A $36 inc. GST price becomes 31.40. I, and others would find it helpful, if we were able to search for an invoice by entering a name or keyword, we expect would be in it. Example, we do a lot of shipping service work for a fishing company. The invoices all go to the company, but they have many ships we service. Hi, With the new upgrade to Essentials files, we have had clients have issues with their full width header image not actually showing as full width. It has been very complicated to try to fix it. Also since they needed more information in their header, the option to choose logo and business details doesn't work. If there was a column showing a reference to what the invoice is then it would be helpful to figure out which invoice relates to what. I am an electrical contractor and part of my work requires me to write electronic certificate of compliances. Quite often I have MYOB on one screen and then the compliance page on another screen. The compliance screen requires me to provide name, address, email and phone number. It would be good if MYOB had a small ( I ) information button next to the customer details that could launch the full customer details tab from with in the invoice. This would make it easier for the tasks that I do as apart of my business. Im sure it wouldn't be that hard as the drop down box already pulls some of the customer details from the database. I had a problem today in MYOB Business Pro of a client where the Purchase Order number DOESN'T retain the original Purchase Order number. When you convert the PO to a BILL it generates the next sequential PO number in the bill. So you have to manually go in & amend it to the original PO number. If it doesn't keep the original PO number what's the point? It says in the help ALL information in the PO comes across into the BILL. WRONG & annoying. In the Essential Business Pro Package currently it is not possible to just bump an account up or down levels. This is a basic function of the AccountRight Plus software and is critical to the reporting funtionality. Without an easy and quick way to modify levels a process of creating headers is the only way and it still doesn't allow bumping down to level 3 or 4 if you are chasing very detailed reports. I have had to unsubscribe from the essentials package and go for Account Right again, which is more than twice the rpice, although my business is small. The levels are there, they just cant be changed, it dseems like an eay fix for MYOB developers to make the functionality of the package considerably better. The Screen shot shows Chart of Accounts with Level Column showing. The Screen shot 2 shows what happens when you click Edit Accounts, and Screen Shot 3 is when you click edit on a specific account.
