Adding new user

I'm trying to add a new user.  I get the message "You don't have permission to invite a user to use MYOB. Please ensure you are an admin/owner of the subscription. Contact your administrator if you think this is a mistake."  I am the owner/administrator and I appear to be assigned those roles.  Any suggestions what is wrong here?

  • Hi, MYOBuser2021. Thank you for posting here in the Community Forum.

If you have Administrator access to MYOB, you can invite anyone you'd like to sign in to your MYOB business. If you need a hand with your books, you can Invite your accountant or bookkeeper. To investigate the error you're encountering, please verify the last four digits of the serial number you're referring to and confirm the last name of the business owner. This information will significantly aid us in addressing this issue.

We are looking forward to assisting you.

    Best regards,

    Hannah

    Hi Hannah,

Can this information be sent to you privately somehow?

    Thanks

Hi, MYOBuser2021. I hope everything is going well for you today. I just wanted to follow up on whether you still require assistance in adding a new user to your company file.

Please tell us how you go and feel free to post again when you need more assistance.

    Cheers,

    Hi GregApps,

Happy to help! If you’re seeing the same error as above, it usually means the email you’re signed in with isn’t listed as an Owner or Online Admin on the subscription, so the system blocks sending invites. Only the subscription Owner (and Online Admins, where applicable) can invite users. If you’re already an admin and it’s still happening, it’s likely an account-specific issue. Our team’s got your back, give us a call or connect to our live chat with our virtual assistant, MOCA, and we’ll get this sorted together.

    Cheers,

    Princess

  • Thanks Princess_R.

I went through this process with MOCA a couple of weeks ago and seemed to have fixed this.
However, when I try to change our set up preferences (Setup>Preferences), it shows as 'read only', meaning I cant make changes.
I am the administrator and owner. how to do I have read only access to this and how can I fix?
