Dashboard access suddenly denied

Good call giving the usual quick fixes a go yesterday. With the other tabs humming and the Dashboard fine earlier on, the most common cause is access on the file. Make sure to ask someone with admin or owner access to confirm your role. If it already covers the Dashboard and the "You don't have permission to access this page" message pops up again, make sure to reach out to our team. You can reach them on Live Chat via our virtual assistant, MOCA, or by submitting a support case via My Account. They can take a closer look from our side to see what’s happening and get you back on the Dashboard.

After much toing and froing with support, the best next step is to create a support case via My Account with your account details. The team can review your role permissions and check what's going on behind the scenes.

Update re. this - spent 2 hours on the phone with support for them to tell me that removing dashboard from users with limited access is a feature of the latest update. No notice to existing users that this would happen, and no indication that dashboard access will be restored for limited access users in future. Absolute waste of time. 

I have tried logging out and back in and restarting my computer.

My administrator has made no changes to my access and I can still access everything else I could before, just not the dashboard. I have ended up in an online chat, will let you know how it goes :)

After much toing and froing (hours) with MYOB support, it looks like MYOB ran an update last Friday that means unless you are an administor or accountant/bookkeeper in your MYOB permissions you no longer can see the dashboard, simple as that.

My role does not require me to use or access the Payroll function in MYOB, so I frustratingly no longer get a dashboard to easily see what needs action with bills, invoicing and allocations. Is there a way I can ask MYOB to give me dashboard access again?

I had a support case open over the phone and the support team took control of both my MYOB and my administrator's MYOB to go through the role permissions and check everything. That's when they finally came to the conclusion that to view the dashboard you need to have Payroll permission now since the MYOB update that happened on 31/10/25, ie you need to be an administrator or accountant/bookkeeper. The case was then closed, as there was no further investigation to be done.

Is there any plan to reopen dashboard access to users without Payroll permission? Our staff found the dashboard very useful but they do not need Payroll access; giving these users Payroll permission just so they can access the dashboard is not a great solution for us!

Totally get where you're coming from. Once you’ve added the user and granted payroll access, remove it and check if they can still access the dashboard. I had a similar time wasting experience sadly, when the MYOB backend team were as yet unaware as to why my dashboard disappeared and they had me and my boss as the administrator, unlinking and relinking to me to our business in MYOB and trying and retrying different access permissions for hours, until someone recognised it was the fault of the latest update and therefore told me there was nothing to be done. A little frustrating I think for all involved, MYOB employees included.
