When using recurring sales, the item price remains as saved and does not change when the actual price may fluctuate up or down. This is potentially costly in either lost sales or lost profit. I have found MYOB reporting to have significant limitations when a business has different cost centres and wishes to report on these seperately The business uses the 4 codes for sales and the 5 codes for cost of sales whilst the 6 codes are used for the admin expenses of the entire business. We cannot therefore report on profit centre 1, profit centre 2 etc seperately. I have explored the use of categories and these appear to have potential. The major problem with this is that you need to specify the category at the bottom of each data entry page for every transaction. This is not feasible!! SO - can the software be upgraded so that categories can be linked to account codes (so that the account code defaults to one of the categories). This would save having to enter the category on every transaction and hence open up huge potential for the use of category reports. Submitted on behalf of Stephen Browning from Taxcorp Roy I raised the issue of account deletions with you a few weeks back. Yes you can use combine accounts, but this is only a feature you should use when you wish to combine the contents of two similar accounts. MYOB continually states that an account cannot be deleted because it has existing journal entries. This includes situations in which transactions have been removed from an account, not by way of a journal but by the recoding of the transaction. Many of the transactions coming in through the bank feed, if allocated via a rule, are assigned EFT as the ID No. and queries about this in the community suggest that there is no work around. Well, the one simple work around is to enter all the bank transactions manually and then match them with the feed - which negates the 'time saving' feature of the feed in the first place. Why on earth can't there be an option to allocate an AUTO # number when establishing a rule so that unique identifiers can be assigned to transactions 'created' via bank feeds? I would like MYOB to be able to tell me my total average debtors 'days to pay invoices' figure, for a chosen period of time. The 'Customer Payments [Closed Invoices]' report lists the 'days 'till paid' for each invoice and then an average for that customer, but not a total for all customers. I know that there is a standard formula for working out debtor days, but this only works correctly if you have a business that sells fairly consistently throughout the year. I work in agriculture and 80% of the business income comes in over a 5 month period. This makes the debtor days formula resultinconsistent. MYOB knows exactly how long each invoice takes to pay and the average days to pay for all invoices would be quite a simple calculation for MYOB. Hi guys, I have been on the forum and noticed my idea was first presnted in 2013 by another user and repeated nearly 20 times. I struggle to understand why you cannot add/modify the fields in the Sales Registry Window. Account Right is designed for variances in business workings and cannot always rely on a set window for staff to work around. Our business requires (as do others it seems) to be able to (at a glance) pull up invoices based on other criterias in the fields. We have a requirement to add a field (or can modify an existing field) to enter a customer number as this is the only way we can identify the order, otehrwise it adds 3 minutes to the query. We have found a work around by placing this number into the purchase order number field and modified the tax invoice and delivery dockets to reflect this, but not a good way to do this. This did not fix the problem and I had to ring the ATO to get the client sorted out. This happened to another one of my clients some months ago as well as she also had to ring the ATO to get the software providor noted again. I do not know and neither the ATO or MYOB could say if it was a MYOB or ATO problem. Most small business people doing the STP reporting will assume that the retuen has gone through and not know to check the payroll reporting centre regularly. MYOB needs to have a system in place where there is an email sent to the business to say that the return has been rejected.
