Transitioning a previously offline file to online

Wanting to transition a currently offline data file to online (additional data file) I paid for a trial subscription, and I've been given a new Serial Number.

 Should I just change the SN and upload? It's version 2026.4

OR

Should I install the .exe file supplied with the subscription, and then import a previous backup?

or will there be a clash of Serial Nos if I do that?

    Yes, change the serial number and upload. If you are using AR2016.4, you already have the latest .exe. 

     

    Don't confuse uploading with restoring, they are 2 very different processes. You need to upload, not restore.

    Just tried. It won't allow me to change the Serial number. It is greyed out. Apparently I have to contact support...Well that will be a few hours waiting on the phone!! :(

    Hi Mauzy​ 

    Yes and then wait 2-3 days - or get in touch with MYOX Services, for a small fee they can change the serial number within hrs same day.

     

    The reason the option is greyed out is usually because the serial number has at some stage been linked to an online service such as STP Phase 1 or Bank Feeds etc.

    Hi all, a note to let you know that we have updated our help information to make it clearer for customers to understand the process of moving their file online.
    Particularly, the step around updating your serial number in product seems to catch a few people.
    Please check out the information here. It is important to note that these steps will only work until the 17th June when the changes to offline mode take place.
    We will update the help again with the process for going online after the 17th (once the change has gone through)

    I have been on hold now for just over an hour as when I logged on to MYOB last week, I discovered I had two files/accounts.  One was linked to MYOB Atlas in 2020.  Only 7 numbers.  I have been online only for many years; update version is now 2026.4.1.14.  I only use this for inventory and customer invoices. I will go and look at Mike's link, but every time I try an update it says I am offline (no I'm not) and I don't have a product!  UPDATE... After 3 hours I got hold of a guy who offered me a good deal on MYOB for 24 months.  I was put on hold while he organised the ?link?  Anyway, he asked for my serial number, and I gave it to him...as stated on the MOYOB disc, and the program.... he said there seems to be a mistake, and was transferring me to a techincian....an hour after that...disconnected!  Not much service.  IS there a class action about, enroll me.

    We know that call wait times have been much longer than usual, being unable to reach us to get help with this change has not been acceptable, and we’re sorry for that.

    These changes will be visible when you open up AccountRight from the morning of the 18th of June.

  • I've purchased the subscriptions and uploaded files, but wont open. Have tried to contact support over the last week and got told they were busy call back another time.  Now in Priority queue, Over and hour and they have closed

    Hi AliW​ , if the subscriptions you purchased are for AccountRight then you can wait for tonights release of 2026.5 and then follow the improvements announcement last night here

    We are putting in multiple improvements so that you will be able to solve any issues you might be encountering, without needing to contact MYOB.
