Payroll Reporting (STP): Open through desktop app (after STP v2)
When processing payroll, I record the payroll, and don't submit the STP report straight away, so I can check that job numbers have been allocated to all transactions by running a consolidated jobs P&L and comparing it to the whole company P&L. I used to then be able to go to payroll reporting centre, and send the report with a few clicks once I'd confirmed everything was okay, or deleted and reprocessed any wrong entries. Now that we've transitioned to STP phase 2: I click on Payroll Reporting Centre which opens my browser where I then have to click on Next before I can type my password and click on Sign in then I have to choose the company file then click on Payroll then click on Single touch payroll reporting then click on the relevant transaction which takes me to yet another screen where the send to ato button is waaaaaay down the bottom so I have to scroll down the page before I am finally able to send to ATO. Was this user-tested before it was implemented? Was it only tested by people who use the browser version and not the desktop software. so they were already logged in? Or did MYOB simply ignore any feedback they were given? Although I've been doing it for years, I can't remember exactly how few clicks this used to be - I'm thinking maybe 3 or 4 - but this new process ^^^ is absolutely ridiculous and will drive me insane every week. It still beats having to reverse pays just to change a job allocation. [I still think there has to be a better way to reverse pays while keeping an audit trail - particularly when the $ amounts aren't changing, but hey, that's a whole other issue.] I don't even really mind having to log in to the browser, but you could at least take me straight to where I need to go, like lodging the BAS online. MYOB currently has only TWO main features I use regularly that Xero does not have. If Xero gets their act together and introduces them before MYOB manages to bring AccountRight back to being the solid, reliable, user-friendly program it used to be, then I'll be making the switch. The race is on. I'd rather stick with MYOB but some days it seems every time I turn around I find another reason NOT to use it. For now, the time saved using these features still outweighs the benefits of changing, despite this current rant. "Bring back easy access to the single touch payroll reporting centre!!!!!!! Hi there - as a new user of Cost Centres late in the financial year, I'm finding it frustrating not being able to change the cost centre once the transaction has been paid. This means if an error has been made you have to remove the payment on it, then change the cost centre. Of course if it was in payroll, you would have to reverse the whole pay and resubmit. Hi MYOB I've seen a number of threads which customers ask about attaching documents and MYOB respond that you can't because its a purchase order. In my opinion there are two situations in which purchase orders are utilised 1. where it is part of a businesses risk management for spend control 2. where it is part of managing progress claims MYOB you seem to have focussed on reason #1 for purchase orders and not considered #2. I'd like to provide the reason why it is useful to be able to have attachments to purchase documents. For clients, particularly in the Maritime Industry (but likely also for cross border transactions and the Building Industry) you negotiate an agreement for the cost of a product, generally a proforma invoice will be issued by the supplier at that time (which we want to track), and they may require say a 25% deposit. The actual commercial invoice may not be issued until the product is released for delivery. So if I ordered $100k Alluminum, paid $25k deposit, a payment may be required when shipped, and a further payment when landed, all this information needs to be tracked. Why in my business would we want to track this information only when the actual invoice arrives? Any chance you can put this on your road map, and equally have purchase orders work in the Cloud solution also? Thanks JustineNew36Views1like2CommentsOnly require authentication once a month
I am using AccountRight Plus AU 2023.5.1.4. When I launch the application, my account password and a 2FA token are both required to login. However, the password is still required and there is only an option to not require the password for a maximum of 12 hours. Hello Please please pleaseincrease the character limit in the tax invoice description to at least 500, or no limit at all. I have seen a number of requests on the forum for this over the yearsand am not sure why it has not been changed. Many of our job descriptions or quote descriptions go over the word limit and I have to break up a paragraph somehow mid-way through, which does not look very professional. We do not have a $ amount for each line entered, we enter a number of aspects of a job inone line, which all total one amount, and this frequently exhasuts the word limit. I know I can add a blank line underneath with a $0 figure, but the limit frequently runs out mid-way through a sentence and it is very frustrating having to cut the half of the sentence that I got mid-way through, insert a blank line and paste the sentence in there and then keep going until the limit runs out again- it seems so pointless. After payroll entries are recorded there is no way to edit any part of them. I understand this is to protect the integrity of the total etc but it also creates a ridiculous amount of work when somebody enters something slightly incorrectly. A few examples: * Payroll entries added on the wrong date have to be deleted and reentered even though this does not affect the total or the allocations of leave etc. When you have to do this for 100+ entries to move them one day forward this results in more work than running the payroll in the first place * When a job has been missed or misallocated, we need to delete and reenter the payroll entry. Most other transaction types can add jobs retrospectively, why not payroll? * If a payroll period is entered incorrectly the payroll entry needs to be deleted and reentered, again, this has no effect on the total, so why not make it editable?
